Slyfox1990
Hey all, I posted here a while ago with the startings of a Black Templar project which never quite got off the ground. I am now back and have decided to post up a blog/summary of my newest project : Blood Angels. I ve planned on getting this army going for a few weeks now but it was really kick started properly when I went into GW Oxford. I was just picking up an order of Death Company but some how ( as usual ) got roped into the Winter Crusade. It was suggested that I try and get 1k of Blood Angels done by the deadline in February (?) and improve my painting along the way. Conveniently I have 1k of Blood Angels ready to be painted so its on! The List: Corbulo Regular Assault Squad x 5 Rhino Regular Assault Squad x 5 Jump Packs Death Company x 5 Jump Packs Tactical Squad x 10 Rhino Baal Predator 2 x MM Attack Bikes So far I have all the models needed other than one Razorback ( to use as a Rhino of course ) and still need to make one of the bikes too. Progress: As said above I ve made most of the models but they are for the most part unpainted and unbased. I have however nearly completed my first razorback/rhino which I will now post some pictures of : http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/7613/023e.jpg http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/4181/022gl.jpg http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/3953/021vq.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/3046/020g.jpg This is still very much work in progress and needs a little bit of touching up along with some weathering as well. The main thing I d like to mention is that I am NOT at all an experienced painter and techniques such as black lining, highlighting and weathering are all quite new to me. I m hoping that I will improve more and more with time and hopefully my models will get better and better  I m very happy with my first tank so hopefully everything else will look as good and better. Please leave any comments, criticisms, feed back or anything else. I ll be posting much more in the next few weeks. Shadow Captain Corveus
a bit sloppy here and there I agree, you could touch up your hard edging a bit, but other than that it's quite good! Slyfox1990
I definitely agree with both comments. I m happy with the model overall but some of the black lining and highlighting certainly needs work. I ll be posting up some more things tomorrow for everyones viewing pleasures. Soon to come: Corbulo and Death Company. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187706-my-winter-crusade-blood-angels/#findComment-2221381 Share on other sites
Ensis Ferrae
the only real critique i have for the tank, is ya need to drill the bolter barrels, and maybe the exhaust stacks ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187706-my-winter-crusade-blood-angels/#findComment-2221393 Share on other sites
Slyfox1990
Thanks for the comment - I agree that I need to get around to doing that at some point! Luckily its something I can leave for now and do at a later stage. This update is only a small one on the tank which has received some weathering - mainly mud around the lower parts. There is also some attempted battle damage on the front - it is of low quality due to my in experience doing such things. http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9226/002he.jpg http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/5526/001hxom.jpg Its by no means perfect at all but I think it certainly adds something to the tank. I don't think the pictures quite do its justice - I m very happy with the way its looking in the flesh. It was also taken down to the store today and got a good reception which was cool  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187706-my-winter-crusade-blood-angels/#findComment-2223742 Share on other sites

Grokkit
I love your painting and if your going to be gaming with them then don't worry too much about all the fine details because if you want to show case it later then you can go back and touch it up. One thing though in your list you have only taken one troops choice, the tac squad, this could be because of the blood angels rules I don't know because I haven't read them but standard force organisation chart dictates you must have 2troops and 1 HQ in your army.
