Combi-melta

I know the commander box has one, but is there a better place to get some for our wolf guard pack leaders or should we just make our own?

If you actually have the extra Melta Guns, some guy on here recently linked to a blog of his with directions on how to make good Combi Meltas using Melta Guns and Storm Bolters. They looked really sharp, and didn't appear to be too difficult to pull off. Maybe he'll notice this thread and pop back in with that link. You could also use the search function and see if you can find it yourself.

The Sternguard vets come with two combi-meltas and a combi-plasma. I know some people don't care for metals, but the Sternguard models are very nice.

There are several tutorials in the Librarium for converting combi-weapons, too, of course. I personally don't care for the storm bolter variant, I think the vertical arrangement is more pleasing to the eye.

If I remember correctly, battlewagonbitz.com sells the commander combi-melta bit for 9.00 USD. I don't have money to use on stuff like that, so I custom built mine for power armour guys.

There's no real formula but basically you take a bolter, cut off the barrel and put the meltagun barrel in its place. If you trim everything off the front on the bolter then there will be enough room under neath to reattach the bolter's barrel.

Doesn't look as cool or clean as the gw bit, but it serves well enough if you've got the bits laying around.

Looks something like this.

2 combimeltas? I only got one in my box... Which was no big deal since only one of the models in there is designed to hold it anyways...

9 bucks is half the price of just buying the commander box set.

Ive made a few from stormbolters, but I also bought like five of that commander set when it came out, because it was *at the time* the best place to get specialty weaponry for wolf gaurd.

Alas, you are correct, and I am an idiot. :D I must've been thinking that there are two combi-weapons in the pack, then a wire got crossed when I went to list which two they were. You're right. One figure comes with both a combimelta and a combiplasma cast on his sprue tab.

The metal Sternguard bolters would make a really nice-looking base for a combimelta or combiflamer, though.
