LPetersson
Me vs Dezul Mission: Annihilation (Potential KPs: SW 8 : EC 10) Deployment: Spearhed Space Wolves: Njal Storm Caller Ragnar Blackmane 6 Long Fangs + WG With MLs 6 Long Fangs + WG With MLs 10 Grey Hunters Flamer/Plasma Gun + WG 10 Grey Hunters Flamer/Plasma Gun + WG Frostblade 10 Grey Hunters Flamer/Melta Gun/Power Fist + WG Frostblade Arjac Rockfist + 3 WG TDA AC/WC HF/WC Combi-melta/PW Emperor's Children: Daemon Prince with Lash Daemon Prince with Warp Time Greator Daemon 5 Termiens - 4 Combi Plasma + 1 weapon I can't remember :whistling: 2 Vindicators 6 Havocs Raptors - Melta guns 7 Noise marines 7 Noise Marines 2 obliterators 10 Chaos Marines in Rhino Emperor's Children Deployment: Vindicators right at the front, ready to unleash template hell Both squads of noise marines deploy in cover with the Havocs Daemon Princes are next to and behind the Vindies Rhino prepares for a flanking assault The termies and Greater Daemon at the back are in reserve and preparing to deepstrike... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2734/4202257684_39b4e1fc08_o.jpg Space Wolf Deployment: Njal + Greyhunters Are on the bridge preparing to unleash the fury of the storm from above. Ragnar and two GH squads are lying in wait behind the ruins while two squads of Long Fang veterans, hoary with age and rich with experience, set up near the ruins. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2736/4201504021_852508f822_o.jpg Emperor's Children Turn 1: Rhino surged towards the Long Fangs, Havocs moved forwards, Daemon prince Lashed Njal + GHs out into the open where the two Vindicators destroyed them all with two hits. Njal dead in the first turn :-/ Needless to say that shook me a bit, but hey ho, a wolf doesn't live or die by his characters, but by how well the pack works together... My opponent did feel a bit bad that he destroyed him like that so soon... :P The Rhino with a squad of Noisemarines makes it's way towards my long fangs at full speed while the noise marines softened up one of my Long Fang squads. EC 2 - SW 0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2517/4201505523_7d016e4d68_o.jpg Space Wolves turn 1: The drop pod with Arjac Rockfist comes down behind the vindicators and out jumps my Wolfguard Behind the Vindicators. They swiftly showed the nearby squad of traitor marines the Emperor's Mercy leaving 3 alive. The Long Fangs of Squad 'Eagle Eye' popped a Vindie while the other Long Fangs stunned the 2nd Vindicator. The termies let loose on Arjac and his WolfGuards with a terrible amount of Combi-Plasmas and the noise marines fired away as well which left only Arjac and the Assault Cannnon toting WG left. Ouch. The Obliterators lumber forwards, the Rhino moves closer to the Long Fangs. EC 2 - SW 1 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2634/4202265992_5105843574_o.jpg Space Wolves Turn 2: The second squad of Grey hunters rush towards the Havocs while Ragnar and his squad moved up to support them in the struggle against the traitors. Arjac and his remaining Wolf Guard, Olaf 'Long Reach' finished off the nearby noise marines. The Long Fangs fired off a tthe Vindicators and finished off the 2nd Vindie. And there was much rejoicing. THe Grey Hunters fire their blessed bolt pistols at the Havocs, and follow up with a crushing Hand to Hand assault leaving the traitors as no more than blodied speed bumps on the road to victory. EC 2 - SW 4 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2730/4202267330_bf51afb269_o.jpg Emperors Children Turn 3: The termies dash towards the grey hunters near the ruins and the Noise Marines and Rhino fires at the hoary Long Fang veterans and send two of them into the red dream. The Obliterators speed up and dash around the smoking hulk of the vindicator and open fire on the Wolf Guards, but fail to hurt them.. The Daemon Prince lashes the Grey Hunters closer and the termies fire at them and both they and the Daemon Prince assault them and wipe them out D:< The rhino with noisemarines rock up to my Long Fangs and wipe them out. The chosen one and his squad fire at the termies, assault and wipe them out. Arjac and Olaf Fire at and assault the remaining Obliterator and grant it the Emperor's Mercy. EC 4 - SW 6 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2731/4202273066_53f205ed06_b.jpg Emperors Children Turn 4: Greater Daemon arrives from reserves and pops out of one of the marines that took out my Long Fangs. One Daemon Prince assault my Wolf Guards, while the other Daemon Prince run away from Ragnar as fast as his stubby little legs will take him... The greater daemon trundle up towards the wolfguards. One Daemon Prince later, Arjac and Olaf perambulated down towards the greater daemon to say hi. EC 4 - SW 7 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2741/4201519541_cf82116c3c_b.jpg Space Wolves Turn 4: Ragnar runs towards the noise marines at the back. EC 6 - SW 7 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2532/4201522425_28c927bde6_b.jpg Space Wolves Turn 5: Ragnar reaches the traitor marines at the back and slaughters them mercilessly. EC 6 - SW 8 Emperor's Children Turn 6: Both Daemon Prince and Greater Daemon heads for Ragnar and crew. EC 6 - SW 8 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2717/4201523945_1e90fff263_b.jpg Space Wolves Turn 6: Ragnar assault the Greater Daemon and make short work of him. EC 6 - SW 9 http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4010/4202280376_b8d79587bd_b.jpg Emperor's Children turn 7: Daemon Prince makes haste towards Rags & Co. EC 6 - SW 9 Space Wolves Turn 7: Unfortunately I can't remember if Ragnar made it into combat with the Daemon prince, but it was a hugely fun and exciting game that was closely contested throughout. I don't think either of us made any real mistakes, other than perhaps putting Njal to far forwards during deployment... LPetersson
I found that it works well as long as you get them to where they can be effective. I usually run Njal, and he works very well when he doesn't get killed in turn 1. Ragnar obviously need to be in CC, but once he gets there he's worth his weight in gold. The rest of my army is relatively cheap, so I'm not short of boots on the ground so I don't feel that it hurts me... Chodjinn
You have nine Wolf Guard in that list right? So you can't use a second heavy weapon on the TDA WG, it's one in every 5 only. So it's illegal. And out of interest, what did you arm the WG guys with who went with both Long Fang squads? Hmmm, I seem to have managed to delete the list I used, so I can't double check that, but you're right, as I wrote it there it's illegal. I gotta admit that I'm still in the 3rd codex mindset when making my list :-/ the chaos list is illegal too it has 4 hvy support . 2 vindis .oblits and havocks. I think that's my bad, it was probably havocs then... Jonas Stromclaw
Sounds like a fun match. I think this has finally convinced me to break down and buy a box of termies so I can convert Arjac. By my count he got 1/3 of your kill points and wounded the greater daemon. Excellent stuff.
