Blood Angels Battleforce

My guess would be 10 RAS, Rhino, 5 Scouts (not initiates), 5 Tac and/or 5 DC...

I think they would leave the specials like HG and Exhaulted to the specific boxed sets. Furiosos and Baals would be covered by the assumed re-cut kits with Battle Missions. I'm sure I'm totally wrong but either way I'd want a Battleforce box :)

I find it difficult to see how they will fit so much into a £20 BA set to be honest. 10 models (apparantly) with terminator/OCE parts and JPs? Something has to give and I suspect it will be numbers. (5 and not 10) As for the BF, let's look at seperate costs for the other BFs:

SMBF = £76

SWBF = £70

So, assuming they won't put in a specific elite unit (as that defeats the object of the army builder BFs, a trend we've seen in the new nid BF with troops only) such as a dreadnought, I'd expect to see a BA box, assault squad, tactical squad and rhino. If the £20 price is about right that would be £74 worth.

I doubt they would include so many specialist units in an army box. Seriously, VAS, RAS, DC and Rhino with troops too ? No, I doubt it would be so much. Rhino or Dreadnought perhaps, Command or HG unit and troop unit, maybe a 5 man RAS, but not DC to boot.

Using the wolf BF (10 Grey Hunters, 10 Blood Claws, 5 Wolf Scouts and a Drop Pod) as my guide I am going with 10 RAS and 10 Tacs and an OCE Rhino (now this kit doesn't exist in the rumors but I am hoping, and it would be just a Rhino with some BA bits that could easily be in any upgrade sprue). I think they will leave it there as the 10 jump packs (retail cost of 2 Assault squads) is 1.5 x a tac and the OCE Rhino upgrade – and that might include the razorback assault cannon variation along with whatever makes the Rhino look OCE and so that would make a decent value.

$26.50 (AS) + 26.50 (AS) + 35.00 (Tac) + 35.00 (Rhino/OCE/Razorback) upgrade sprues = $123.00 Retail (the Wolves is 35, 35, 30, 20 for $120 and sells as a BF for $90.00).

If I was starting from scratch this would be an awesome kit and a good value. I already have 30 Tacs, 10 RAS on foot and 10 RAS with JPs and three Rhino's but I would buy this battleforce and two more Rhinos.

I don't think they will use any of the metal figs and I do not think they would give away the Death Company or Honor Guard either. Wouldn't be business-smart. And we all are going to buy three new Dreads (so we can kit them out in the new BA goodness) so they wont throw in a Dread. If you don't have a Baal Pred you will buy that as a stand alone too so a battleforce that lets the old BAers spend cash on RAS, Tacs and Rhinos that we don't really need makes sense.

I do not think they will but...if they do chose to add five more figs I would expect something generic that already exists like scouts. If our set up is like the wolves the upgrade bits sprue that makes us BA will have some "use-as" scout heads and a couple of close combat arms/weapons to make the results of using the old scout sprue BA-unique. Remember we have a couple of years of no BA players buying or making Scouts (except for you and you) so for the most part it is like a "new" thing for the BA.
