Can I ask you a favour?

Hi, I know I am new and all, and I must say I have been greeted very well on these forums. :-)

These pages are great, and especialy al the space wolfs are very friendly. Shure the 1000th point army lists don't get any replyes unles they are 40 fott slogging blood claws withouth bakkup or Logan terminatour lists. But the point is you are friendly and have good taste.

So what I want to ask you great fellows for chrismas is what great army I should get after I have painted up all my space wolfies who look great. At least the painted once do, IMHO! I will still play Space wolves, but I am looking for something else to try out, witch play's diferently. I could realy like try try to do pumking head chaos armies, put it realy is very mutch the same as wolves, just not as funn. I was looking for dark eldars melee, but I do not know how doable that is? But the flying boats look great star wars japahut-ish and they have a high inisiative (I frekvently play eldars.)

Tau also seems cool but I think it will be to shooty. What do you poeple sugest? It need to be funn to play and play diferent then SW my fellow brothers. ;)

I have been tempted by Orks from time to time, but in the end all I really want to play in 40k is Space Wolves. I just really love the play style of being able to shoot, get into combat, or do whatever, depending on how I whimsically put together my list (one day I want fast, the next maybe shooty, the next maybe horde flootslogging combat, the next some elite nastiness, etc). Space Wolves are just a whole lot of fun to play.

In WHFB, on the other hand, I have 3 armies with 5k+ points and 2 other armies in the works. <_< It's just 40k where I'm a one-army-man.

I am fiercely devoted to the Imperium (I've even got an aquila tattoo and a huge Imperium banner in my room), yet when I wanted something different, I traded an army from another game system for a 40K Ork army, and I never regreted it.

They're fun to model and paint, and greatly different to my Guard and BA's on the tabletop.

I'd say, go for it!

I'm getting started on an ork army to offset my wolves (Warboss Redklaw vs. Wolflord Oskar Banewolf, round 1!), and as previously mentioned those are tons of fun. However, if you want a tactical challenge you could try tau. The lack of any good close combat unit is annoying but man, those crisis suits are evil!
... and if you think your up for a challenge, try Daemons.

Seconded. I started a Daemons army at the beginning of the year when Wolves were still "some way off" and built it to 2K with little difficulty. They're a fun, challenging list that are unlike any other army in the game, and will raise a few eyebrows amongst your foes as well.
