OnlyInDeath
Cant say i'm too keen on the wolf list. THe razorbacks are fine, but a 600pt speedbump? A runepriest would have worked much better for ya IMO (anything to make those bikes in difficult/dangerous terrain, each turn a 1/6 chance to kill a nob/boss outright). Plus some additional firepower would have gone a long way for ya. In a list that sports nothing heavy besides that cannon crew, throw out a LRC with some bc's inside, you would still have the leftover points for that RP and a small escort...and he would have no answer for that LRC if you keep it out of CC w/ the kanz. DV8
Yea I'm not particularly enthused by the strategy (or lack there-of). Why would you drop Ulrik, Arjac and the Wolf Guard right in the path of an entire Ork horde, and then sit your 5 Razorbacks back and leave them unsupported? A smarter idea would have been kill-point denial, drop the pod on a defended flank, use it to block LoS, zip your Razorbacks up said flank, and force his units to come to you as you take them apart unit by unit. Force a bottle-neck where he can't bring his numbers to bear, and where he ends up traffic jamming his heavy hitters with the rest of his army. You wasted Arjac, Ulrik and your Terminators, leaving you with no heavy hitters (not even combat upgrades on Grey Hunters), and an army thoroughly lacking in support units. A thought, perhaps. Kudos to the Ork player, he played it well (circled and closed the noose, leaving you nowhere to run). Go-go-gadget tactical thinking. 40k Junkie
Not to be a jerk to whoever took the time to record that video, I could tell they tried to do it well.... But- The list was bad, the tactics were bad, and therefore the game was bad. ;) I see that he was playing OOP vehicles and so I am giving the benefit of the doubt that he is new to 5th ed. Athalus
Thanks for the vid, fun to watch some battles when I can't play. I agree with the above on ya strategy though, we all gotta learn from our own mistakes though. My main thing would be to get some more support units, and make sure to always support your all star unit with everything you got, since you rely so much on them. DV8's quick illustration shows ya a pretty good idea of what to do. Other than that, work on the list, and get some sweet revenge! MechSpacewulf
Well, some of you guys get worked all up over others games with a healthy dose of assumptions. I have all OOP vehicles because that is what I like, I made the list weeks ago and thought it would be fun to try and I just wanted to play Ulrik. Started playing at the end of 4th edition in 2008 so there goes that theory too(BTW, my tactics weren't "bad", they were shi##y) .Oh, and if I had not failed almost all of my saving throws in the first 2 turns then the game would have been a little closer. ANYHOOO, thanks for the comment and I appeciate the attempts at constructive feedback. These videos are to entertain not to p*#s people off and the only time a game is "bad" is when you play an a$$hat :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187994-video-arjac-and-ulrik-vs-singing-speed-freek-orks/#findComment-2225487 Share on other sites

Ravenger
so much negativity, who cares. trying new things is a way of learning. i enjoy your videos sir, i dont agree with your lists some times but its still fun to watch, and i bet its fun just to play. I cant say i favor the new Ulrik, i dont plan on fielding him ever. how come your toilet ball pod was transformed into a home made wood one? cant wait to see the BA vs Bugz works out. if you had your list planned out for weeks did you know what race your friend was going to field, if so why no longfangs or heavy bolters on your razors? hordes always fall prey to rain of bolts Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187994-video-arjac-and-ulrik-vs-singing-speed-freek-orks/#findComment-2225619 Share on other sites
TiguriusX
I notice you post quite a few of these video batreps. I must be old school because I prefer it as a bonus to an old fashioned batrep instead of a total replacement Keep it up though. Don't be discouraged. I like your humor and the notes you scroll across. Too bad about baby jesus the illegitimate primarch... Night Runner
Interesting battle. Unconventional but still interesting. I enjoying seeing armies that are rather unstrategic in formation play out a battle, even if it is just to learn how not to use a SW army :P . But I can't honestly say I didn't enjoy watching it and wouldn't mind seeing more in the future, in fact I looking forward to the Nids vs BA. I have a battle against the nids as well after the holidays with the new codex. It never goes to plan with them; you just got to hate those Lictors. MechSpacewulf
Thanks, had no idea what army I would be playing and the guy I was playing called me the day before because he was on vacation so instead of coming up with an Ork list I went with the one I had made up before and thought I would give it a go. I will be posting the other game tonight.
