Magnus Thane
Any idea how Pure GK's perform as attacker or defender in Planetstrike? Anyone tried them in a PS scenario? Justicar Valius
never tried them but in theory they couldn't be all that bad as an attacker, the tank killer dred could make a return and teleport squads and terminators should be decent. defending honestly there's not much point in pure. inquisitor with 2 mystics in a rhino spam and your good :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188137-grey-knights-and-planetstrike/#findComment-2226709 Share on other sites
Little Russy
As said I think attacking woulden't be too bad, but I think in defending your model count would be terrible and that if the other person got a lucky blast could take a really big chunk out of your men. Grey Mage
Lets see... 30 GKs from the FA selection with 12 Incinerators, meltabombs on each justicar- and the strategem that lets you give d3 units meltabombs. Teleport in, roast the troops inside the bastions *remember you can shoot through the fireports with flamers* and then assault and destroy it. Led by a GKGM+TDA, supported by a trio of Dreadnaughts for some ranged support. Inquisitor Fox
There was a defending Daemon Hunters stratagem in WD 359 (US) that provides some clues  Octogrammic wards on defensive structures imply that they pick the vital points and wait for the daemonic incursion to occur (which makes sense as picking where daemons are going to show up is challenging to say the least). Magnus Thane
Might just be my impression but I found that stratagem rather subpar compared to many of the others. Or am I mistaken? number6
Might just be my impression but I found that stratagem rather subpar compared to many of the others. Or am I mistaken? I liked it. ;) It's pretty cheap and I thought effective enough. Ominous Anonymous
In the same White Dwarf, there's a Defensive Stratagem for Daemons that only allow Fearless models to enter a building. Inquisitor Fox
I've never found invulnerable saves to be a bad thing... I know my Bretonnians have been saved by the Blessing more times than I can count, and when you've only got so many models on the table, each one that doesn't go down to a power weapon or low AP value gun is a godsend! I like it on paper, but have yet to play a Planetstrike scenario. But sometimes beauty lies in the simpler things. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188137-grey-knights-and-planetstrike/#findComment-2230968 Share on other sites
Grand Master Caloth
as attackers they are great. PAGK come in as FA, gain Deep Strike, and thus can assault off the teleportation in! And the terms... Same as PA, but with Termie goodness added. Take heavy drop and your LR and Dreads show up mid-field. I love how planetstrike works, even as defense. We play a mean invasion force tho Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188137-grey-knights-and-planetstrike/#findComment-2234029 Share on other sites
