Space Wolf Titan?

Hey all,

This is kind of a cross post from a thread I started on Warseer. But anyway, I could have sworn there was mention in one of the BL books of the Space Wolves being given a titan due to some past deed in one of the space wolf trilogy books. Does anyone recall such a story? And if so, could you point me in the right direction?

It kind of got off target over there and figured since this forum had a more focused group I would ask here. It all basically ties into me wanting to buy a titan (because the models look hardcore) but paint it in chapter colors, but trying to stay very strict to established background.

Thanks folks.

I've never heard of such a thing, and doubt that this exists. If you go look at the background material on the Titan Legions and what it takes to operate a Titan you will see how they couldn't just be "given" to a Chapter. I suppose that a Legion could dispatch one of its Titans (with crew) to support the Wolves for a specific campaign, but that would be a temporary arrangement only, and the Titan would maintain its own heraldry and colors.

At the end of "Grey Hunter" The Space Wolves Chapter attacked a stronghold with the help of various Imperial Factions. There were something like 13-20 Titans there, working with the other Imperial Forces, but none were given to the Chapter.

No. We don´t have a titan. The God-engines are the greatest and most guarded treasure of the AdMech. they would never give one away. And even if they would, no SW would know what to do with it. You will need a trained crew. The synaptical plugs of a titan crew are much different then those of the black carapace of a SM. So a SM would have no conection to the titan. And the most imported fact is: It is prohibited by imperial law (I know we SW are to known for giving much about it).

None of the Legions ever had Titans under their direct control, chapters wouldnt dare even ask for one.

The only SM superheavy ground vehicle is, if Im not mistaken, the Fellblade- a superheavy tank akin to the Baneblade. Those Im sure the SWs have a few of.

Are you sure your not confusing Titans with the Leman Russ Exterminator. Yes I know they would be hard to get mixed up but maybe you are just getting the names wrong. Anyways, there is no mention of the Space Wolves getting a Titan in any of the 6 SW novels or in any of the short stories, like the other members have already said. Hope it helps.
The Titan Legions are and always have been a separate entity to the SM'S, and indeed, to any other branch of the Imperium.

Claiming a SM chapter has a Titan is like saying the U.S. Army has aircraft carriers.

But the US army (oh I get it the Navy hase them)

No chapters have Titans froma FLuff view point. Howver mine took one so they have a warhound or 2

A Titan is not a "vehicle" that you can just get in and drive. They have specific implants required etc and you have to bond with the machine.

I think the average crew is 3 people and the "captain" is a Princeps

This is another reason you wouldn't just give a Titan to a SM Legion.

actually im pretty sure in one of the white dwarfs it said we were gifted a warhound after helping a forgeworld and we recovered parts of a chaos reaver. ofcourse we have no way to pilot it lol

Which white dwarf was that then??

Actually I am sure some iron priest would be able to hardwire themselves or somebody else into the Titan, I doubt its that difficult

Never heard the like before. Just imagine what an ambitious Wolflord would do if he was to own a Titan.

"Ahh, link me up, I'm going to run into their lines and break them utterly"-says he who sits in the commandthrone of the only Titan ever to be sen armed with twin Wolfclaws etc. ;) ;) .....I guess you get the point.

Lexicanum has some good info on Titan crews.

The Princep runs the risk of becoming part of the Titan after some time. He is unable to disconnect and survive
