sonofwaranddeath
Well, upon the announcement of the SW codex, I like many others got hyped up over it. But, I only picked up a Blood Claw pack, and then sadly lost interest. BUT, Christmas has granted me the funds to start the army up again! So current force consists of: 5 wolf scouts 10 Blood Claws 20 Blood Claw or Grey Hunters or Wolf Guard or whatever... 2 drop pods 1 rhino 1 predator w/AC and HB's Tomorrow I will hopefully pic up some WG terms and make a wolf lord out of some spare bits So, I would like to know what you guys think of my current force, and what I should kit those 20 marines to be. space wolf
Welcome brother, What you have is a good start. I would make those 20 models, Grey hunters. Personally I like blood claws, but GH are much more versatile. I would make them 2 GH packs, and probably pick up a third and a rhino just for good measure. Little Russy
Yes, those twenty need to be Grey Hunters. The common Grey Hunter is a requirement to any good Wolves army, as Blood Claws arn't very good at laying down Support fire so your squads can move around a little. Grey Mage
Welcome to the Fang, and I would certainly agree with those who have suggested Grey Hunters- they are by far the best unit in our codex all around. It looks like you have yourself a good starting army, Id suggest getting yourself an HQ or two *buy a combat squad, make a Wolf Lord, Wolf Priest, and a couple WGBLs out of the new SW kits* and probly some Long Fangs *by a devastator box, and kitbash with the new wolf sprues again* to round out your force. Then, go out and play some games... enjoy yourself, try out whatever seems good... and then decide what kind of force youd prefer from there. Beef
Welcome brother. I want to see painted models. Listen to the advice of your fellow brothers and you wont go far wrong Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188204-joining-the-fang/#findComment-2227305 Share on other sites
Skirax
I've done nearly the same thing that Grey Mage has said - I have a new SW Pack that will be used to make a Ragnar, WGBL, Rune Priest and, at a push, Ulrik or Ulric or whatever. It works very well; the bikers I got for christmas are now Swiftclaws thanks to some (for once) half-decent modelling on my part.
