Draeden
At first I was just gonna post images of a single model to ask for some advice on the base, but I figured I can use this to start posting progress on my models in general as I'm starting to get a good system for me going. Though for now it's just one model in question. I figured he can double as a Sorcerer on Daemonic Mount/Bike (It's Tzeentch :D ) or a Chaos Lord on a similar set up with the lance being a power sword/daemon weapon of my choosing. (Ignore the time/date, I just didn't set it properly on my digicam) http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_000_0012-1.jpg http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_000_0014.jpg http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_000_0018.jpg He's a lil lop sided since he isn't on a base but I stare at him and just can't figure out what to do for his base. Any ideas? I'll post more pics later of some of my other stuff. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188322-knowledge-is-power/ Share on other sites
LuNCHBiZZLe
I like it, as for a base I would go for a termie base and try to get the rock from the CSM termie lord to mount him on, think it might give him some hieght and pressence on the table. Dejay
I think it would fit on a bike base better. Plus I think he would looks awesome if you had him riding though a swap with tall reeds near the horses legs. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188322-knowledge-is-power/#findComment-2228208 Share on other sites
The Nephilim
I'd make one or two of those horse legs look bionic. Look at some Vampire Hunter D for some wicked inspiration. Asrech
Cool, I loke how you managed to give him a sence of forward momentum, very nice. A for the base I'd probably go with a biker base, and what to do on it depends a lot on how you're doing the rest of your army since you will want them to match :D But deff try and beef it up a little, since it is the pimp daddy comming through after all! And If possible I totaly agree with The Nephilim, if you can add some bionics to the steed it would be a great way to top it all of! Waiting on paint Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188322-knowledge-is-power/#findComment-2228265 Share on other sites
Draeden
I'm really unsure about bionics... I aint too great of a modeler yet and I don't want to risk ruining it. But as I'm playing the Horse as a Daemon Steed, particular of the Tzeentch kind, I see not as much reason to bear down on the bionics which I'd see more for Iron Warriors or Khorne (Or the Great Forge). I'm not too good at taking pics of my models yet, playing on different settings to try different things so some of the pics may be a lil iffy. However on the idea of bases, I took your suggestion of the Terminator Base and Rock and I added an Imperial Guardsman underneath it. Gonna greenstuff him some guts hanging out and the Mounted Lord will be positioned so he's leaping over the edge and the las pistol. http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_MountedLordBase.jpg Anyways, here's some of my other stuff. Screamer Lord, this was one of my first models I did. I like how it looks though it doesn't play too well with the rest of my army so he gets benched a lot. http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_ScreamerLord.jpg http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_ScreamerLord2.jpg Rhinos for my two Rubric Squads http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_Rhinos.jpg Defiler. Didn't like the box design but I took inspiration from the Brass Scorpian. It does look a lil bare on the top but that's cause I left some bits of it off til I get around to finish painting it. http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_Defiler.jpg http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_Defiler2.jpg Aspiring Sorcerer 1. I've taken to making my own Aspiring Sorcerers instead of using GW's. Just cause my army is a legion of mindless automatons serving magical masters, doesn't mean the magic masters have to look identical. The pictures for this one are especially bad since I've base coated the model and have yet to apply any paint. http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_AspriginSorcerer1-1.jpg http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_AspiringSorcerer1-2.jpg And finally my Autocannon Havocs. I've yet to do anything with these guys except field them in a game against Tyranids but I already love 'em. http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_AutocannonHavocs.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188322-knowledge-is-power/#findComment-2228655 Share on other sites

Draeden
So... it is New Years Eve. I had work today, and so I popped into Games Workshop before hand to see if a little somethin I ordered with a certain pre-christmas promotion had arrived. And indeed it had, much to my suprise. So, spending NYE alone... (damn.... just realised how sad that sounds), I have already pinned and built most of it... and so...: http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_Ahriman.jpg http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/Durasuness/th_Ahriman2.jpg The backpack isn't glued on yet, and he hasn't been glued to the base yet... I also picked up a basing kit which I added the Eldar Runes from in a circle around Ahriman. The intention is to have the runes glowing in response to Ahrimans presence... gonna base coat him tomorrow. Now, as for my other models, I've yet to take new pictures of them since I haven't made much progress on them but I've added a basecoat and an initial coat of mordian blue to the Rhino, a squad of CSM (Designed to be renegades that joined up with the Thousand Sons for safety... until the sorcerers choose they need more "materials" =D), the Mounted Lord and the first custom Aspiring Sorcerer. Next week after I get paid I'm planning on direct ordering the "Chaos Space Marine Lord 2" for my second Aspiring Sorcerer. I'll post pics up for all of that once I add more paint to the jobs.
