The Toxic
At my local gaming store my cousin and I go to conversions is where its at. It is more about how you convert there so I compete with crazy dreadnoughts, sweet eldars, and some steam punk guards. Now for daemons this is somewhat difficult cause if I change the look to outrageous then how could they tell? I brought this up with a few guys and told them I would convert the skeleton warriors of Tomb warriors of warhammer fantasy to 40k pink horrors and flamers. Some said go for it, others disliked the idea, and several thought about it thinking on how to do it. So my question is how to make them pink horrors and flamers or is this to far in game standards Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188464-conversions/ Share on other sites
Niiai
I would say if it was out of place. Is the rest of your army actual real models or are they all home made? And how do you want to convert the skeletons? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188464-conversions/#findComment-2230319 Share on other sites
The Toxic
My Letters are normal same with daemonittes. My Bloodthirster is a balrog model. I hand converted my KoS (still not done). What I want to do for the horrors is cut the swords off and gs flames on their hand and paint purple. For the flamers I want skeletons with flames all over body paint blue white and yellow. My daemon princes I am using the Tomb Kings Ushabti. lol so ... LuNCHBiZZLe
I think once the flames are done and they're painted they would look fine next to the Ushabti. Niiai
I like the flame idea. :-) A nice touch, I was afraid you where gonne give them flaming bows, that would be a bit lame. I like the balrog idea, I was thinking of the same myself. You can also consider converting some of the c'tan gods for MC's. Especialy the one with the scyte and call him the harvester. The demons you find in Codex Demon are not the only once. Just the moast common once. You should try to look the the dark heresye roleplay game. Some of the finished campain stories have some cool demons. (One of them is the crow father, he is very cool!.) Also...I also think the wood elfs ent would be cool for demonettes. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188464-conversions/#findComment-2252402 Share on other sites
The Toxic
The wood elfs would make some smexy daemonittes. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188464-conversions/#findComment-2252656 Share on other sites
Primarch16
I say go for it, I've not actually used one daemon model from the codex in my army: Heralds are Beastman lord (khorne) and Chaos sorcerers (Tzeentch) On home made chariots Flamers are Wood Elf Dryads Bloodletters are Beastmen Horros are Tyranid spore mines with green stuff eyes Daemonettes are diaz nettes (old metal ones) Plaguebearers are Vampire Counts Ghouls Daemon princes are Moria cave troll from LOTR (nurgle) and a very old greater daemon model (slaanesh) Soul grinder is bottom half defiler and top half warhammer giant You might think it would get confusing, but once you think: red - khorne blue/pink - tzeentch white/orange - slaanesh green - nurgle You cant really go wrong...
