Sweeping Advance

Recommended Posts

I've always thought the unit attempting a sweeping advance had to out-number the losing unit falling back, but when i went to find the wording in the BRB i couldn't.

Am i mistaken? Can a smaller unit wipe out a larger unit with sweeping advance?

Or, Am i right? Can anyone give me a page number if i am?

Thanks!

If I remember correctly, as I don't have the rules memorized, a sweeping advance is supposed to represent a unit losing close combat and then failing a leadership role. Essentially they are running for their lives cause they just had thier butts handed to them.

Logically in this type of situation it shouldn't matter the size of the unit performing the sweeping advance since they would have a psychological advantage over the "retreating" unit. Just picture any movie where one thing decimates a group and then continues to slaughter them as they attempt to run away...same basic principle.

Of course, that doesn't mean that it works that way in the game. :)
