KhornateKiller
Hey Brothers, Been quite a while since i did any work on my wolves ANyway with my xmas money i bought another box of termies and i had been looking in the first box at the size of the frost axe and thinking that would be a fair size double headed axe. So after hour or so tinkering i have come up with my version of the great wolf himself :) http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg153/KhornateKiller/Image0004.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg153/KhornateKiller/Image0005.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg153/KhornateKiller/Image0006.jpg What do u guys think? Still got trinkets to put on him and just had a great idea to put something on the axe which i will add a pic of later :) I know the head not quite right but best i could do :( C&C plz guys good or bad KK Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/ Share on other sites
Captain Lucas Raziel
I like it, and i dont like many Space Wolves! like you said, i think a new head would help, and please, get rid of the magazine on the end of the storm bolter, really doesnt work! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/#findComment-2230070 Share on other sites
KhornateKiller
ok switched the bolter mag and here what i did with the axe  http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg153/KhornateKiller/Image0011.jpg http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg153/KhornateKiller/Image0012.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/#findComment-2230093 Share on other sites
Captain Lucas Raziel
i think you should just get rid of the magazine entirely to be honest Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/#findComment-2230107 Share on other sites
jester_prince
Mabey make something similar to the grey knight amunition belts. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/#findComment-2230112 Share on other sites
the jimster
yeah i agree no magazine at all tho must say overall i love the model and prefer it to the standard logan grimnar, tho also i think an 'older' looking head would fit the model better Jim Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/#findComment-2230125 Share on other sites
Chodjinn
Great conversion! I'm planning something similar with the axe when i get round to my logan. Good pose too, but yeah lose the mag for the storm bolter and make a belt feed or something. All good tho so far. KhornateKiller
what would you guys reckon to using the ammo belt from the chaos heavy bolter ? As the wolves have got a slight ferelness about them ? If not suggestions for belt feed ? Zeller
Look at their assault cannons. Alternatively, what about getting a hold of some chaos bolters with the belts hanging out. Get a few of those, reposition them and glue them together to form a large belt that fits snugly under his cloak where the box would be. Btw, that is a badass SW. That guy has a serious presence. Asrech
That's one big ol' gnarly wolf! I like the version you've done ( like the original as well ), I think the second way you did the mag for the S-bolter was better, but I'm wondering if it wouldnt look even better by dropping the mag ( as has been stated ). But I think the belt feed would be too much... as a stormbolter just doesn't have the rate of fire to demand such an ammo-feed ( going by a-cannon belt ). If you did your own belt, a smaller version ( like that on the pedro cantor modell ) I think it might be cool! All in all a very solid conversion! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/#findComment-2230540 Share on other sites
Xavier Targhost
Hey like your model of Grimnar  and what about taking one of the amobelts from the newer plastic heavy bolters? Cheers and a happy new year too btw.. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/#findComment-2230696 Share on other sites
KhornateKiller
Thanks for ll the replys guys, What im going to do is take a few pics. 1. What i changed it to at the mo. 2. No ammo at all 3. With an attempt at ammo belt. Will get them up in a bit, The mrs is out at the mo so that means Call Of Duty time ;D while i can. Will then work on the big guy in a couple of hours or so and get the pics up :eek EDIT. Right searching through my not so vast bits box a came across and old attack bike heavy bolter with ammo belt. Is this something like what u guys were thinking ? Struggling to find a better "older" head than the one i have as the rest of the older heads all have either a top knot or not hair :( I think the way its bent adds to the sense of movement :eek ? http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg153/KhornateKiller/Image0016.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/#findComment-2230771 Share on other sites

Emperor's Scourge
base black, dry brush greys working up to skull white? Might be a bit too rudimentary for what you're aiming for. I know they have had fur tutorials in recent White Dwarfs. January and October if I remember correctly. Asrech
I like the ammo belt, the sixe fits just right and it has thast half-crude SW way kinda look to it  As for the pelt I'd say white or gray. In my mind it would be the pelt of a alpha male just as onl and gnarly as himself, not some upstart pup. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/#findComment-2231149 Share on other sites
sn0wstorm
I really like this version of the Great Wolf. Very dynamic pose IMHO. Love how you did the Axe. Good job on it! With the extra long handle it looks huge, but thats how it must look. Blckbuster
it's most likely too late for this suggestion but, two wolf heads facing away from each other would be really nice on the ax morkai otherwise truly well done, and amazing what you can do with plastic now a days Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188475-logan-grimnar-wip/#findComment-2232317 Share on other sites
