chaplaincliff
Ok all! So this is going to be my Work In Progress thread for my Forge-World Black Templars Venerable Dreadnought, I received this model for Christmas this year from my fantastic wife and I am just in love, this thing is beautiful, the details and possibilities are just fantastic, I currently have the Dreadnought close combat weapon and Assault Cannon (which are both magnetized). This first picture is all of the parts after removing mold lines and shaving them down so they fit together, I don’t like the sword that hangs down off of the banner, and I felt the banner was a little tall so I trimmed the bottom of the banner pole to the little box on it for a strnger mounting point and a little slimmer look. http://inlinethumb42.webshots.com/22697/2650028660045302329S600x600Q85.jpg This next picture is of the dread after being primed, I have since base coated with Chaos Black (so no need for a pic since the color is almost the same) this was just to touch up the points where the spray primer doesn’t take. http://inlinethumb05.webshots.com/17220/2868486600045302329S600x600Q85.jpg These next three are of the head, I used mithral silver for the bottom of the head with bolt-gun metal as the highlight and a badab-black wash, the iron cross is mechrite red with a highlight of blood red and washed with baal red, the hoses are bolt-gun metal with a badab-black wash. The black is just chaos black with a P3 coal black highlight and no wash on that one. http://inlinethumb36.webshots.com/46307/2533798020045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb10.webshots.com/30793/2769322710045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb34.webshots.com/15457/2465770180045302329S600x600Q85.jpg ----- Update, December 31st ----- So here are more pictures of what I have done on the Dreadnought, all of my paint recipes are pretty much the same on everything, if they change I will let you know. this is the stormbolter and auspex sensor that attach to the hull of the dreadnought. http://inlinethumb42.webshots.com/44649/2417923750045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb12.webshots.com/12939/2050565950045302329S600x600Q85.jpg For my banners I use rotting flesh with a flesh wash and chaos black for the lines, the bones are bleached bone with a flesh wash and chestnut ink over that. this is the banners and devices that hang from the front bottom of the dreadnought's hull. http://inlinethumb30.webshots.com/17693/2448452600045302329S600x600Q85.jpg This is the power-plant for the dreadnought. http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/35596/2975188340045302329S600x600Q85.jpg and the feet for the model. http://inlinethumb46.webshots.com/9325/2543769140045302329S600x600Q85.jpg This is the back banner, I am still debating whether I want to magnetize this for storage or not. http://inlinethumb02.webshots.com/43649/2756662270045302329S600x600Q85.jpg this is the lower half of the DCCW. http://inlinethumb52.webshots.com/15731/2386007000045302329S600x600Q85.jpg and these are the two arms in their half-finished state. http://inlinethumb29.webshots.com/28956/2441460300045302329S600x600Q85.jpghttp://inlinethumb41.webshots.com/42664/2194772230045302329S600x600Q85.jpg thanks for looking! chaplaincliff
Well, here it is! the finished ForgeWorld Dreadnought! I didn't really do anything special for it other then the base as I didn't want to really mess it up, it is still waiting for the dull-coat as it is raining here in the Tampa-Bay and that will make for a bad spray. so Without further adieu, the model in question. http://inlinethumb50.webshots.com/42993/2741056580045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb60.webshots.com/45627/2009990820045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb07.webshots.com/43334/2673844890045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb29.webshots.com/45340/2504434080045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb31.webshots.com/7838/2427650810045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb43.webshots.com/43178/2354961070045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb04.webshots.com/15107/2423580980045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb48.webshots.com/44655/2407868680045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb38.webshots.com/42597/2393901120045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb40.webshots.com/27175/2680957790045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/16716/2851176710045302329S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb54.webshots.com/31285/2526002350045302329S600x600Q85.jpg I know that is a lot of Pics, but hey when you are proud of something you gotta show it off somehow! chaplaincliff
@DeJay Lol, no it didn't, i have tryed to keep my BT paint scheme pretty simple, and that has effected my dreads and such, I think to a very nice end. @Brother Perf.. The arms are magnetized onto the dread for ease of switching weapon systems, as the forgeworld arms, regular plastic kit arms, and the AoBR arms all have different stud sizes they are not interchangeable, but now with the magnets they are interchangeable. this also adds to the affect of looking like the arms can swivle around and the such easier.
