Multiple combat questions...

I was hoping that someone may be able to explain/clarify the following...

I charge enemy X with units A, B & C

Do I consider the Initiative values across all A, B, C & X models and roll dice in that order?

Or do I resolve combat A vs X first, then do B vs X etc etc?

Another example of what I mean. A, B & C are lone wolves striking at I4, X is a powerfist marine striking at I1.

Lone Wolf A rolls first, but fails to kill the power fist marine. I presume Lone Wolf B goes next, then C, and then finally X?

Otherwise X is rolling for attacks 3 times, which doesn't feel right to me. Could anyone please clarify for me.

Thanks

You start with the models with the highest initiative - they all attack. Then the models with next highst initiative attack and so on until you get to the lowest initiative at which time the models with the lowest inititive attack.

Example:

Marine character with I5 attacks first

3 marines with I4 attack next

Surviving "xenos" with initiative 3 all attack

Marine with power fist I1 now attacks.

All units go in initiative order together, so yes you consider models from all four units in your above example.

Also note that if a particular model is only in BtB, or 2" of a model who is in btb with one other unit they must direct their attacks at that unit. Example:

You declare an assault on units A and B with unit Y. You do everything right... moving the closest model of unit Y to the closest model of unit A, then moving each of your models up to touch another enemy model while maintaining unit coherency. One of your fenrisian wolves *Unit Y* is far in the back, and unable to get into BTB contact. So, after all the enemies have piled in with their charge responses you find that not only is he not in BTB, but hes not with 2" of a friendly model that is touching unit A. He would then have to attack unit B.
