wolfing up vehicles

Ask around your local gaming store and any of your marine playing friends who have drop pods- the extra wolf icons from the DP kit are excellant chapter badges for other tanks aswell.

Also, if your not using them, the new PA Storm Shield is pretty good when you trim off the hand on the back.

Tails, Skulls, the occaisional pelt... and fantasy wooden shields are also common ones.

And of course, the old school wolf skull icon if you can find it.

Or, if you're feeling flush, you can buy the Space Wolf rhino access points/doors from Forge World.

The SW icons set also looks very good, as does the brass etch set ... it even comes with runic license plates!

Other options include pelts made out of green stuff and runes cut out of plasticard. I've got a few runes on the rhino for my grey hunters and they look really good ... though not as good as the FW doors/front plate. Check out my album (in my sig).

wow that looks great

i am no where near competant enough to do that with green stuff

going to go and pick up the brass etchings tomorrow from warhammer world, was just leaving now before i realised that it might not be open which it isnt

any more advice would be great

Not to downplay the excellent GS work on those two tanks, but sculpting fur isn't actually all that hard.

I think those two pics serve as good examples of what can be achieved by many people if they take a little time, and as inspiration.

All I can say is: have a go!

And I'm stealing that idea of GS fur on chains, thx :D

Yeah, over in the PCA forums there alot of tutorials on using Green-stuff and similar materials to do sculpting, patching, and such.

Yes. Remember, though, that there's fur and fur.

This is a good tutorial for a really shaggy pelt:

It's down to tools and technique, obviously. This example is done with a knife, but if you take a toothpick you get a different effect with the same technique.

Other than that just Google 'fur sculpting' and go from there.
