Justice for Alls Finished Miniatures (eggheadminiatures)

Justice for All

Recommended Posts

I've been painting as a professional artist for years and been into 40K for about as long. Only recently did I decided to marry the two together in an attempt to paint minitures to a high standard, not just a reasonable table top quality. This has proved to be great fun, a good challenge and rewarding in many ways.

I do paint other, none marine mini's too. If you fancy a look at these take a look here... My Finished Gallery Thread

I hope you like the mini's I paint. Feel free to comment if the urge takes.

I'll update this frequently as I complete pieces both commissions and general work.

Ace models, though the Avatar is of Eldar design and therefore isn't allowed around these parts

Thanks chaps. Glad you like my work. Yea, the Avatar is just wrong in its none marineness and deserves a good powerfist or two but, it's a damned good model. ;-) It's been modded into the ether understandibly. If anyone fancies a look at it I've put a link to its whereabouts in the first post.

Those look perfect. I don't think there is any other word but perfect. You should paint for 'Eavy Metal or something because that is some seriously perfect painting.

That's too kind, but thanks indeed. They are good indeed and I'd never compare myself to them!

Thx for posting your minis frater.

These are a clean and decent TT level but your minis could use little more contrast IMHO, colors seem a bit plain to me, maybe is it some picture trick of some kind (like some agressive white light).

Hope to see some more soon.

All they need is a little bit of Photoshop! and those models will be on the special edition space hulk box! or something or other.

just wondering why there is a lack of highlights on the space hulk models? its not a serious issue as you have done a fantastic paintjob its just i've never seen someone paint them with no armour highlights?

Thanks for your thoughts. The figures do look far better in the flesh as is always the way with photos. I know what you mean re: contrast. I like to try and make my figures look realistic and avoid the really high contrast style of painting. To me that style just looks cartoon like. Impressive, but not realistic.

I'll see about working the highlights a little more as I do agree I could get a little more out of them. ;-)

There is highlighting but it's not shown up so well on most of the photos. That said I don't go all the way to really pale highlights like some painters as it's not how the real world works. Gloss finishes in the real world would reflect very bright tones but matt and satin finishes don't, unless they are metallics of course. Where I think I could have worked more into the reds to get shape and such, would have been the shadows. If I'd done that then the figures may have looked more 3d.

Thanks for your thoughts though. It's good to get critiqued. ;-)

I see your point and I agree with your choice, I prefer the realistic myself and by far so I was talking about "little" more contrast. Considering the size of our paint-jobs, we have to help the mini to be "readable" and that goes with some effects or tricks. See Desert Eagle remarquable job, talking about contrasted though Hi realistic painting.

I'm with you on that. With more figures being worked on I'm trying to make the required improvements to ensure they have more 'pop', as I've heard it described once.

As others have commented, fantastic work!

Really liking the cool, muted tones you've achieved on your Space Wolves.

What colours did you use for their power armour?

Anyhow, looking forward to seeing some more of your work, inspiring stuff!
