Really liking the cool, muted tones you've achieved on your Space Wolves.

What colours did you use for their power armour?

Cheers for you kind comments. ;-)

In answer to your query I work up from Fenris Grey, which is over a white base colour, through Shadow Grey upto Space Wolves Grey. Inbetween all of this is a wash or two of thinned Devlan Mud and the blue wash (forgot it's name).

Brilliant Space Hulk termies you got there. I have a question regarding them. You have some very neato looking deck grating on the space hulk termie bases, what have you used to make it?

Cheers

Thanks. Most of my bases I make but those SH Termie ones I bought of ebay. I did add odd bits to a couple of them. The one with the deck plating being ripped up is the most modified.

How did you do your snow on the wolves?Step by step would be appreciated. Love your fortress. Mind giving a step by step for that too?Its fantastic!

Cheers Burbsee.

Snow: I mix PVA with GW snow to make a paste and literally paint it on. Once dried it looks as above.

Fort: got a bit of a WIP on the following link......

WIP

I'll try and remember to put WIP's on this forum too. ;-)

Hey Justice for All,

really nice stuff around here! Would you mind to tell me what colour you used for the brass- or copper-coloured metal-surfaces? That would be very kind.

Snorri

Thanks Snorri.

I start with Dwarf Bronze highlighted with Shining Gold and highlighted again with a mix of shining gold/mithril silver. I then wash it with ogre flesh.

Chrono - Google Fenris Games and check out their Sulaco bases, Im pretty sure that is what they are.

Justice - What method did you use to cut the SH termies off their bases? I am about to take that step and yours look clean and even, just wanted to find out if you knifed them, clipped them or sanded them or all of the above?

Thanks! Nice stuff

Yea, I used pretty much 'all of the above'. Clipped off as much as possible then carefully sanded them. I did use a bit of green stuff on one or two of them as the feet aren't level on all of them.

Lol I am not looking forward to this! Seeing stuff like yours re-inforces the idea that it needs to be done though... I don't mind the Stealer bases as most of them have a decent amount of detail on them (cept for the 2 guys almost flat to the ground holding termie helmets), but the termies standing on cardboard don't blow my skirt... Had them basecoated and then stopped and ordered the bases before I went too far...

Any specific advice? Some of them as you seem to have casting issues around the feet, the bases kind of bulging up towards one foot or the other etc -

I undercoated mine white to start, then started the trimming. This helped as I could see the bottom of the feet easily as I sanded the last bits of plastic off. Kinda gave me a mark to work too.

I used clippers to remove the bulk of the plastic right upto the lip around the feet. I clipped vertically around the feet nibbling off as much as possible. Then sanded.

To prevent the legs over stressing during teh initial cuts I cut V shapes at the front and back of their bases first.

With the poor moulded areas (esp' the guy kneeling) I did have to do some very careful carving and remodeling so they looked right. Only small bits of green as most of this was done with carving.

I hope that makes sense and helps you out.
