Progenitor
Just want to clarify that I am reading the Codex correctly. If I wanted to take close combat terminators I first have to pay Xpts per Wolf Guard. Then for each one I want in Terminator armour I pay Xpts. If I want a Thunder Hammer then I add another Xpts and a Storm Shield, another Xpts.. making for a very expensive squad indeed. So, Am I doing it right in adding up all the upgrades and therefore is it worth taking Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield Wolf Guard Termies at all due to their expense? I want something to back up my Rune Priest and he is in termie armour. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188820-wolf-guard-question/ Share on other sites

The beauty of our Wolf Guard options, as opposed to codex Terminators, is that they are have tons of options. Build the pack/unit with the weapons and wargear appropriate for what you need them to do for you. There are many threads on here discussing how folks arm their Wolf Guard Terminators. Look through the last couple of pages of threads here on The Fang and I am sure you will find more than enough advice on the issue. Oldenhaller
you are indeed reading it right. The cost is more due to the customisation which it allows in every unit - how many marine players would like a couple heavy flamer in a unit of close assault termies for instance? ~O Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188820-wolf-guard-question/#findComment-2234271 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Yep... we pay a premium for the ability to do just about anything with these guys... so think carefully before you spend points/cash on a unit thats twice as expensive as its codex counterpart.
