Decadent
Having played around with 40k for a good long while, i have amassed enough models to make the better part of 2 space marine armies. As such, i have decided to make this little thread in order to show of my progress with them. Without further ado, I present Chaos Lord Umbrek, current leader of the Infernal Sons and an all-around unpleasant person. http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00731.jpg built around a very heavily converted fantasy Khorne lord, i still have a little work to do on him before painting. Not sure what the colour scheme for these lads is going to be yet, any suggestions? The chaos army is going to be undivided, but in such a way that welcomes followers of any of the gods under it's creepy bat-like wings, which means that the army's going to have converted and marked troops all over the FOC. Pictures to come: IS: Khorne-marked CSM unit and their rhino-mobile Nurgle Chosen the first 2 noise marines Chaos Predator DS Chapter master and Librarian Chapter master's bodyguard Vanguard Sternguard Tactical Unit scouts Devastators The truescale space wolves are somewhere in the warp (also known as the british 'Post Office' mail system) C&C on Umbrek is welcome, and i'll show you more next time ^^ Deca out Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188871-decadent-tinkers-with-two-and-a-bit-armies/ Share on other sites
the thousandth whisper
Sick Kit bash, love it, the sword is a beast, he will destroy the enemies of the gods Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188871-decadent-tinkers-with-two-and-a-bit-armies/#findComment-2234965 Share on other sites
smallvictory
So much Chaos goodness packed into one model. Well done. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188871-decadent-tinkers-with-two-and-a-bit-armies/#findComment-2235043 Share on other sites
Decadent
Thanks for the comments ^^, the sword was just a chainsword arm and hilt with a Bloodletter blade ok, so i got bored, got batteries, got some of my models and went snappy happy at them. And now here's part of the Infernal Sons army for you to see and comment on (if you would be so kind, of course) First up, Overtooled nurgley chosenfolk of horrible death (for other people) Aspiring champion Glarak C'then http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00743.jpg You can see his personal icon dangling down next to his loincloth And here's his specially nurglified sword http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00750.jpg The work of a moment with a craft knife and here's his band of merry...slightly smelly...men http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00740.jpg http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00744.jpg http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00746.jpg http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00747.jpg All of which have weapons of varying amounts of funky. Here's the beginning of my Noise Marines, only two so far, as i ran out of parts, but more will be coming along soon to join them. First, the sergeant, who will be getting a topknot soon http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00748.jpg next up is a delightful chap with a heavily kitbashed BlastMaster http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00749.jpg And finally, the sonic blasters that my Noise marines will be getting when i get them http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00751.jpg As always, C&C are both welcome and heavily encouraged Deca out Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188871-decadent-tinkers-with-two-and-a-bit-armies/#findComment-2235118 Share on other sites
AFoolProofPlan
I usually don't like kit bash with stock models. But DAMN that looks nice. Looking forward to seeing the finished model. And I hope you don't mind if I save a copy of your Chaos Lord for future references Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188871-decadent-tinkers-with-two-and-a-bit-armies/#findComment-2235190 Share on other sites
Capt. Lysander
Love your Chaos Lord's pose! Also, your conversion of Noise Marine weapons are also great looking. Decadent
@AFoolProofPlan: By all means go ahead and save away ^^ he originally had a rather badly positioned power fist, so i'm glad to get such a positive reaction to the sword and the pose @Lysander: thanks ^^, the sonic blasters were just bolters stuck together with gargoyle-heads from the tank sprue stuck on them and bits of smoke launcher added, the sonic blaster is a part from (irony) a wraithlord brightlance (/irony) along with another gargoyle and a bit of a plasma gun Thanks a lot for the positivity so far ^^ any suggestions on a colour scheme would be most welcome Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188871-decadent-tinkers-with-two-and-a-bit-armies/#findComment-2235567 Share on other sites
Decadent
fear the double-post just popping up to say that i have an idea for the Infernal Sons colour scheme, and would really like feedback on it^^ http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/csmphp.jpg tell me what you think of it^^ My other idea is a straight up silver paintjob with red or gold trims and god-specific detailing such as nurgly rust, khorny bloodstains, a slight slaaneshy pink or tzeentchy blue tinge etc Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188871-decadent-tinkers-with-two-and-a-bit-armies/#findComment-2236147 Share on other sites
Brother Mordeus
The scheme is ok, cant say i love it , looks too shiny for a warband of depraved and bloodcrazed 10k year old superhumans. Decadent
I had a rethink about the colouration, and decided to go for something lighter and more neutral, with god-specific heads and details http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/csmphp-1.jpg (khorne example) Also, in light of This little bit of fluff, i have made myself a sorcerer to go with misters Laran (when he is made) and Umbrek. So, give a warm B&C welcome to Sorcerer Reteya (please forgive the dark pictures) http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00754.jpg http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00755.jpg http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m258/despoyler/DSC00756.jpg C&C very much welcome Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188871-decadent-tinkers-with-two-and-a-bit-armies/#findComment-2237294 Share on other sites
cathar the great
The hood on the sorceror is too huge. If you really need a hooded knight-style helmet, I'd use one of the Dark Angels Veteran squad. Dan The Deamon
The weapon looks great, but Cathar is right about the hood. It looks...comical. This guy will be worth the extra time and effort if you start him over. Everything else looks great. Wolf Lord Ronin
Loving your kit-bashed minis. Especially Umbrek, he screams all sorts of badass. I imagine a Khorne'ish colour scheme for the Infernal Sons. Maybe even something a lil inspired by the Legion of the Damned, with flame-patterned motifs and such. Capt. Lysander
Hmm, the neutral scheme is alright: but it looks a bit too mellow for Chaos Space Marines :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188871-decadent-tinkers-with-two-and-a-bit-armies/#findComment-2237830 Share on other sites
firestorm40k
Some ingenious conversions here, very industrious, especially the Noise Marines, great work :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/188871-decadent-tinkers-with-two-and-a-bit-armies/#findComment-2238432 Share on other sites
