First suggestions I offer are to work a litle more around the helmet's eye lenses and also if you don't have it, purchase a badab black wash. You'll find it works wonders on any metallic areas. I agree with Cambrius, a black wash (watered down chaos black will do if you don't have anything else) over metallic areas (such as the weapons) will give them a bit more depth. cathar the great Posted January 5, 2010 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Not a bad start. I like the large gun conversion on the havoc. You do need to do something about your primer. Either the pictures are a bad quality, or you don't shake it enough or it's bad in some other way. You should also invest some more time in the black. Just primer won't look good. Black is a bitch to highlight, but just painting a mix 2:1 Chaos Black and grey over the black primer will give you a much nicer looking armor color. One tip when posing the marines: have some of the heads looking down the barrels of thier guns so it looks like there firing them: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/marinestore.jpg its a larger scale but the effect is the same. rottenlad Posted January 29, 2010 Share Posted January 29, 2010 Keep going this is a good start. 90% of this hobby is only learned by doing so you have to paint to learn. Washes are your friend in my book keep playing with dry brushing and washes. Just make certain that the wash is dry before you go over it. As it stands, you need to even up the painting (perfect example: the gold on the shell casings of the heavy bolter), do some washes and then highlight. Suggestions: 1) Wash the armor with devlan mud rather than badab black. Makes it look grimier. 2) Wash the gold with Gryphonne Sepia 3) Light light light drybrush of chainmail over the armor when you're done washing 4) After washing the gold, a 3:1 highlight of shining hold and mithril silver Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

72challenger Posted May 5, 2010 Author Share Posted May 5, 2010 And these guys are part of my 17 terminators I will be droping in on mu cousins nidzilla warriors force one squad with 2 reapers and mix of singal lighting claws, duel lighitng claws, powerfists and one chainfist. The other squad will be 5 combination meltas and heavy flamer. I know it not competion standard but boy do people cry when 17 terminators drop in on the table. including 2 rhino squads 4 meltas, 4 bikes duel meltas, raptors with meltas 1 daemon prince and a cheap champ to pop out a greater daemon. quite the shock force.
