Hey guys,

just wanted to post some pics of my first model put up online. Alpha PTP and I are working on an eBay project and I would like to know your C&C. Take a look.

Are you sure this is your first?! I couldn't do that if I spent weeks on the model. I mean, that's some amazing quality skin tones, right there.

Suggestions... well, as this is something you're doing, you've likely done everything I'd suggest, or know it anyway (like the lighting on the back of the legs and all). But... yeah, I'd kill to paint like this.

haha thanks, I've actually been painting for about 2 years now. The model is still very WIP, most of the blue is still on the basecoat, or just not there. Thanks alot about the skin tones, I use the reaper master series skin tones(use any of them, you can't go wrong, and their triad system helps alot. They have the shadow, base, and highlight already setup for you.).

I plan on giving the base some modelling snow, as the army we're working on all have snow bases. Thanks again for the praise.

Wow, he looks very clean, very nice! I was about to ask why the lightning claws looked a little dull but then I noticed your WiP comment. So I'm excited to see the finished product!

Edited to say the snow base will probably be very complimentary!

Funny thing really, the claws are actually finished. The only problem is that I can't get proper pictures of them <_< . The snow is what really makes these models pop I think, concidering the cold scheme it really brings them together. I'm also planning on the golds being much warmer compared to the other marines, to help destinquish his HQeyness(?), yet still give him a unifying look.

Thanks, the claws are just Boltgun Metal, wash with Badab Black, re-highlight Boltgun, and add Mithril Silver as a final highlight. The pics don't show it too well, but the Mithril Silver is applied in a way to look like the blades are just polished giving off that kind of glare(does that make sence?). Funny thing is that the silvers and the washes are the only GW products I've used on this model, I can't stand GW paints.
