commander alexander
Well, his first name is already Norse, so I was hoping for the surname to be in English, like Bjorn the Fell-Handed, or Arjac Rockfist. Sarapham
well a really simple one with vision is Fargaze, or perhaps something related to Mimer if you know that myth. Arkaniss
Well, until i realised you wanted an English name i was gonna post a link, but what the hell someone else might find it useful! Viking names To (sort of) answer your question i would say don't name him yet. Play a few games and take inspiration from that. I named my Blood Angels Captain 'Ironhide' after he refused to die in so many games - even charging 'stealers when his men fell around him he kept on going. It makes for a better name i find - firstly the model earns the name and second it really helps name them rather than grasping around without any inspiration. Failing that if you still want to stick to something vision-y how about 'the wise' or 'the prophet' - something along those lines. Unless you meant sight rather than fortune telling. If thats the case why not 'eagle eye', 'true sight' or 'dead eye'? Hope i've helped! commander alexander
Problem with "eagle-eye" is it sounds like a james bond movie, and, Ari means eagle, so it would be redundant, I have written fluff based on some gameplay, as he will be a dread, who was a long fangs pack leader for centuries, and could always spot the weakness in a target, and *almost*, had some form of "the gift", that was like foresight. Based on that I would call him "Mimerson", although not strictly part of space wolf mythos the connection to that myth is much like you described with his "gift". Sarapham
Mimerson just doesnt quite sound right. Well guess you could flesh it out more to a title "Son of Mimer" or the like, otherwise the name will sound abit generic I think when it comes to other things related to vision. commander alexander
OK FOR CLARIFICATION, Who the heck is mimer? The name sounds kind of wierd, and not very warrior like. AND, looking for surname in English as I stated above, like (Bjorn) the Fell-Handed, It needs to be something to do with sight and is warrior like. Mimer is a god that is the guardian of the well of wisdom in norse mythology, Odin offered one of his eyes in return for all the wisdom in the universe that Mimer could offer him, making him half blind yet all-seeing, including seeing into the future. Hence why I thought it would connect with your idea of vision. Sarapham
It was probably just a metafor to show that you have to sacrifice somethings in life in order to gain other things that perhaps are for the better. So for Mimer it would be as a pawn, to make sure that you are serious about the wisdom offered. commander alexander
Okay update, I guess. :) -First I think I have decided on a name for the Long Fang character Ari, Ari the End Gazer (Seer?). I still need help with the name, which I am thinking needs to do something with ends (as in your end), which brings us to the next thing -I have decide to have my wolves to be the warriors of Harald Deathwolf's great company. As I am new to wolves, and the codex is somewhat lacking in descriptions, any information on Harald would be great. -I am also working on names for the company's rune priest, wolf priest, and iron priest. I know that companies don't officially have there own, but I like to think they are attached. -This is now going to be about the development of my wolves, fluff, gaming, and painting and modelling wise. as far as actual models, I will post links to important or interesting ones. ===EDIT=== Oh and before I forget, if anyone has good reference pictures of actual wolves, i would really appreciate it if you posted links or something, as I would like t o sculpt some. Grey Mage
Frankly everything known about Harald Deathwolf can be found in the current C:SW. They didnt really go into Wolf Lords in the previous codex, allowing you to make your own. Wich is why my company of stormwolves doesnt have three vindicators as an example.
