Argon Posted January 7, 2010 Share Posted January 7, 2010 I remember some bit of fluff about the Emperor trying to purge it of xenos and such during the Great Crusade, so I'd say it's been there for a while. However, that might have been from the BOLS Badab War campaign book, which is completely unofficial. I don't think there's ever been an official statement on when the Maelstrom came into real space.
