Rhellion
Is it alright to use appropriately painted up Chaos Hounds as Flesh Hounds for 40k Daemons? Also, what bases are usable for them, should I use the 20x40 rectangle bases, or bike (oval) bases... or can I put them on 40mm round bases? http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1252353_99119915035_DaemonsFleshhoundsMain_445x319.jpg http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_Custom...ain_873x627.jpg VS http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1900126_99120201009_WoCWarhoundsMain_445x319.jpg http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_Custom...ain_873x627.jpg http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m480383a_99229999070_RoundBasesSet_445x319.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189093-converting-flesh-hounds/ Share on other sites
aeroplane
Is it alright to use appropriately painted up Chaos Hounds as Flesh Hounds for 40k Daemons? Of course! I'm not a fan of the new hounds, so I am looking into doing the exact same thing. As for bases, does anybody know for sure what come with the current Flesh Hound box? I only know that the previous sculpts only had the rectangles... aeroplane
I'd prefer to use 40mm round bases, but I'm not sure if it would be legal. That would be a problem. Although I like the idea aesthetically, 40's are just not the right base for a calvary-type unit. Use the rectangles or the new pill-shaped bases... Honestly, whatever is in the box cannot be argued with. Same size as the rectangle bases but I'd rather not have a mix of the curved and sharp edged bases throughout the army. mikekhorne
Have you thought about using Vampire Counts Dire Wolves? They look more gruesome :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189093-converting-flesh-hounds/#findComment-2240220 Share on other sites
Skell
They come with the cav bases, so thats how i've used them. I don't see any problems with using the alternate models as fleshhounds. They are the only unit of their type in the codex, people should not get confused. chaplainmikey
Hi, For my flesh hounds I'm also using the Warhound models and trying to give them an 'otherwordly' looking paint scheme: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/th_Photo0172.jpg I stuck to the rectangular base so its possible to use them in fantasy as well as 40K. Cheers, Mike. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189093-converting-flesh-hounds/#findComment-2248035 Share on other sites
CF Scout
That is an interesting idea, especially so since I have a ton of hounds sitting arround without a current use. Maybe I can use them for something afterall. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189093-converting-flesh-hounds/#findComment-2261433 Share on other sites
Grand Master Caloth
Not to mention if you are like me and a much bigger fan of the previous Khorne models for the bloodletters, using the Hounds fits better and looks better together. (btw, anyone who has older Khorne Bloodletter models and is willing to part with them, PM me please) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189093-converting-flesh-hounds/#findComment-2267603 Share on other sites
