Well that's certainly a...unique dread, liking the Heavy Gear look you've got going on there.

Pose-wise it all depends on whether you want to emphasise shootyness or stabbityness. If you want to emphasise the shootyness, then have the sword down by the side, have the gun-foot in front of the sword foot and have the plas-cannon pointed forwards. Vice-versa if you want to emphasise stabbityness have the gun down by his side, have the sword-foot forward and either have the sword pointed forward or held out parallel to the floor.

have fun

Interesting concept ;) but you need to have a bigger head, and a tonne of pistons and cables connecting the "toes" of the feet to the leg. otherwise it looks like it would fall over. And some rivet heads would look good too

Very different and unique dread, nice work :)

If possible, perhaps consider twisting the upper torso from the legs a little, have it stepping on a stone under one foot to raise up one side, then use that angle to have the sword up on the raised side as if thrusting it up into the air.

That would be more like a typical predator standing on their prey, weapon by their side and the raised side upholding their prey's skull or something (picture the film Predator or any Khorne zerker pose showing their prized kill).

That's one style, currently I have my ven raised on one size, and then twisting and looking down to the same raised side, the CCW aiming down to grip something.

One thing I will say about the sword arm you have there, I love the way it's holding it out as if posing after a slice, or about ready to reposition its stance following a strike. But with the dread looking very upright and straight, from front / side angles, the sword can be hidden too easily from a good pose.

First off, great, unique idea and good use of 'bitz'

The thing for me is he looks as if is going around on the wheels and also has legs. I think this would make it a bit tricky. If you think of something simliar - say a transformer, their wheels tend not to touch the floor in their 'human' form.

If you are going down the wheel path, two separate legs may make it a bit unstable. Consider something a bit more tracked.

In terms of posing, take some inspiration from similar examples - the CGI guys must do a silly amount of research into posing for their work!

here is an example of a dynamic dread

Note - these are not mine, just used for reference - let me know if you want them taken down and I will happily oblige!

Sort of funny hey, its a walker on tracks.. ha ha

its a nice conversion and i'm sure we'd all like to know how on earth you managed it!

personally i think the model is quite wide and atm it looks rather stubby, i suggest making the tracks more vertical to give him some height... it also might solve the walker on tracks problem.. haha
