I quite like it, the faces are very good, however saying that I don't like the colours. I just looks like an explosion in a paint factory, either that or the set of Art Attack! Just doesn't seem very Iron Warrior-ish to me personally, but whatever floats your boat! :)

Is anything going in the open cupola?

Thanks, and I know what you mean on the colours. I feel the green works very well but the rest are a little dubious... they may all go green.

Havoc launcher going on this weekend in the opening as well as decor/spike rails etc.

Looks like this Vindicator has been participating in a daemonic paintball-fight.. For the love of all that is chaos, give that tank a wash or two so the colours don't remain so shiny and bright.. Other then that, it looks rather good!

Thanks Loken, it shall be so...

Is it agreed though that green is the best colour that works better with the shade of steel or would people be inclined to heavily watering down some black wash/ink and just leave them metalic?

One thing I would say is that the demonic elements look a bit like they've been splattered onto the vehicle rather than emerging from it. I would say it may be worth trying to either smoothen the transition between metal and deamon - paint and GS-wise (a bit like this (nurgle plague hulk) - in which machine and daemon are amalgamated) or try and GS some opening of the metal hull to look as if it's bursting through - (I know it's nurgle but like the blisters on the front plate - here)!

Thanks for that Brother Loring. Having looked back at the pics of the "green stuff"ed areas when just sprayed black and after the initial silver coat, they looked much more "coming out" rather than "splatted on". The green stuff techniques used on the Nurgle Dread is way beyond my level right now. I'm new to the use of gs but I feel my skills are getting better from where they were.

I'm thinking a black wash followed up with a highlighting/drybrushing over them, they may look a little better. Or I may try to just drybrush some silver over the colour to a) dampen the "pride" feel and B) bring the IW feel back a little more.

Many thanks for the input though guys. Watch this space Sun or Mon (or in 10 months time) for updates.

Others will be much better at advising how to merge the two if you are going to go along that route. But just think of it like this... There aren't some deamon faces crawling around the hull (which would make them look separate like they are), it is more like the daemons are amalgamated but emurging through the hull giving a much smoother transition of matter and colour or bursting through the matter of the hull giving a defined colour, but would require you to GS where they are exploding through.

If you are going down the route of smooth transitions, just think how you could smooth it out. Very basically add more silver to the coloured daemons and/or more green to the hull. The reason I said about smoothing it out is that at the edges of you GS'ed daemons there is often a defined/raised edge - this will make it difficult to 'transition' the colour. But, like I said, others will be able help more on the painting (and on the the modeling) front.

Thanks again Loring, your advice is appreciated. I have been looking at it all week while sorting the further detailing/Havoc launcher etc and have felt it doesn't look right and I think the way you have explained it (bring the silver in to the faces or the green out to the hull) is what I have been considering is needed. Mefeels that it shall be shunted in front of much on the desk tonight for much "tweaking"... if anyone else has more advice, please feel free to comment.

I must admit, I'm much more pleased with it and have played around with weathering/mud streaking for the first time ever.

Many thanks for the kind words Nephilim. Now, I guess I should plaint some troops to go with these HS options...

I do think it looks much better, more like they are part of the hull!

You could put a bit more colour into the faces - it may give it a bit more of a feel of the mix or organic and machine. If you do make sure it a transition rather than a definitive change.

Good work!

Cheers Loring. I did a black then green wash before drybrushing back with the metal over the top. The green doesn show up that well in those pics (taken with iPhone, not camera) but in person they look great.

And on to the next project...

Wow this came out well! At the first few pics I was sceptical, but as I read downward the results became a lot better than I expected :D

The adding of varius (spiky)bitz on top really did a facelift for the entire vechicle.

Do you want the faces to be armor or daemonic? If as armor then leave 'em as they are, they work great. But if you want them as a daemonic possesion I'd say white up the teeth and eyes, that would really make them pop!

Cheers!
