dizzy-xc
What wolves u use for those conversions? They are fantastic! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189221-space-wolves-by-earthen-updated-830/#findComment-2239867 Share on other sites
cathar the great
The powerfist wolf rider could be greatly improved if you turn his head to face in the same direction as the wolf. I guess you want him to look like he's pulling the beast back and not like he's just checking out his bling. Otherwise very cool conversions! earthen
What wolves u use for those conversions? They are fantastic! I use vampire dire wolves from the D&D collection. ~6 bucks on ebay. Theres a 'rare' pose of the model but it costs ~25. The powerfist wolf rider could be greatly improved if you turn his head to face in the same direction as the wolf. I guess you want him to look like he's pulling the beast back and not like he's just checking out his bling. Otherwise very cool conversions! Haha great observation cathar the great - i hadn't ever considered that. Perhaps i should add a big platinum clock at the end of the chain and some horns to the helmet. FLava FLAV! The idea definitely was to make him look like he was initiating a hard turn, but i think I'll have to move the head and go for a more mild look. smallvictory
Nise GS work on those wolves, simple and effective, I like it. The Powerfist guy is my favorite, I think Cathar is right though, a quick turn of the head is in order. daemonclaw
nice conversions there , it may be the camera angle but the first pic of the runepriests head looks awkward Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189221-space-wolves-by-earthen-updated-830/#findComment-2241039 Share on other sites
dizzy-xc
Ok, I have mine now and did similar things with green stuff. The models are fantastic. But I'm having problems with the bases. I dont want to use the bases they came on. They are flimsy and besides, I repositioned some legs. They dont seem to like the 40mm bases and I think the 60mm base is too big, although they do fit on it. Looks to me you already based one of your models so you are keeping the original bases? Too bad they dont have a 50mm base. That'd be perfect. Maybe an oval 40mm... Captain Mike
I like the servo-skull and the general standard of GS, but the thing that really struck me was the turret conversions. They are really well done, and detailed. Very good job. earthen
I should have done this sooner - but heres what ive been up to! This 2000 point list is completely painted to a table top standard. Many of you keen eyed onlookers will notice details that have been conveniently missed. Thats because I did 95% of it in a week, and fell just short (6 models i think) of my deadline for a tournament. Those, among other things like lenses ( I need a color suggestion badly, im leaning orange) and armor weathering (example further down) will be completed later on. Logan - 275 Runepriest - 100 Lonewolf, TDA, Chainfist, SS- 85 Lonewolf, TDA, Chainfist, SS- 85 Lonewolf, TDA, Chainfist, SS- 85 10 Man wolf guard 8 power armor(4 combi-plas) 2 TDA /w CMLs - 290 5 man wolf guard 4 power armor 1TDA /w CML and chainfist - 150 5 man wolf guard 4 power armor 1TDA /w CML and chainfist - 150 5 man wolf guard 4 power armor 1TDA /w CML and chainfist - 150 Thunderwolf, SS, Powerfist - 105 Thunderwolf, SS, Powerfist - 105 6 long fangs, 5 Missile lauchers - 140 6 long fangs, 5 Missile lauchers - 140 6 long fangs, 5 Missile lauchers - 140 2000/2000 Other various odds and ends have been painted - which youll soon see! Onto it! Fist off, the Dreaded linebackers, the lone wolves. Figured that these guys really needed a chainfist that meant business. They have been - By FAR - the overachievers in my army. They just like killing things too much! To help distinguish them (to people unfamiliar with my army, it can be a confusing mess of terminators and power armor) They are the only models with a red accent color. Im not a fan of red and yellow together, and I thought red was fitting for suicidal vikings. Whod have thunk? http://i37.tinypic.com/72pov8.jpg http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/4746/img20100830014812.jpg http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/6779/img20100830014846.jpg FOR RUSSS - Logan Grimmnar. Still needs work - pleased with the Axe Morkai though! http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/7093/img20100830014911.jpg I tried to make it look like runes were drifting across the back of his cape. Successful? I'm not entirely sure, haha - you tell me. http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/8853/img20100830014919.jpg Test mini - only thing important to see here is the weathering on the metal rims of the shoulder pads. This is the next thing to be applied to the army. http://i38.tinypic.com/24q0hg1.jpg You saw this Rune Priest before - hes the first post in this thread - my my my what a little paint can do. http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/3754/img20100830015008.jpg Some 5 man squads (Their chainfists didnt need to be as manly) http://i35.tinypic.com/675pn5.jpg http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/6918/img20100830015618.jpg WIP ironpriest http://i38.tinypic.com/357m3ja.jpg Long fangs http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/1203/img20100830015201.jpg http://i33.tinypic.com/200wbgy.jpg THUNDERWOLVES HOOOO - Some of the Thundercav + a painted iron priest. The army color started off as this sky blue color - they will be darkened down to the rest of the army - like the wolf rider in the foreground. http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/6310/img20100830020009.jpg The preds (only 2 of 3 shown) have earned their runes 5 times over by now. http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/2367/img20100830020116.jpg Added in by request (cant remember who though - SORRY!) a couple marines from my Spirit Bears (Vulkan) Army! http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/7813/img20100830020626.jpg http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/9681/img20100830020650.jpg http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/1764/img20100830020713.jpg http://i35.tinypic.com/4ucsbr.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189221-space-wolves-by-earthen-updated-830/#findComment-2500768 Share on other sites
