Eikrem
Good evening guys and girls, This is my first work in progress, so please bear with me if I am slow at updating! I have never done any GS modelling before and wanted to try it out, so here are two pieces I am working on currently. Wolf Priest http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WIP/WolfPriestRaw.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WIP/WolfPriestRaw2.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WIP/WolfPriestRaw1.jpg Currently he is missing an arm which will be holding a crozius arcanum, which I should have sorted by Monday. All the robed areas should also become fur, as I have started doing here: http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WIP/WolfPriestStage1-2.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WIP/WolfPriestStage1.jpg Terminator I also wanted to do a scene which catches the end of a battle, and chose a wolves terminator finishing a genestealer. This may also have been slightly influenced by Gears of War. I still need to add both arms to the terminator, along with a wolf cloak and some other markings. The base needs completing as well. http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WIP/TermyStealerStomp3.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WIP/TermyStealerStomp2.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WIP/TermyStealerStomp1.jpg All C+C are very welcome and much appreciated. Capt. Lysander
Nice work on the posing. What position/angle are you going to put the Wolf Priest's arm at? Eikrem
Got the right arm now and finished the Wolf Priests wolf fur robe. I really appreciate any C+C from anyone, even though there isn't alot to comment on for the moment... http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest/WolfPriestFront.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest/WolfPriestLeft.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest/WolfPriestRight.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest/WolfPriest.jpg Thanks for looking. Wolf Lord Ronin
Pretty sweet greenstuff work there. I like where this WOlf Priest is going, might have to take the idea for myself  Where'd you get the crozius arm from? Bifrons
Where'd you get the crozius arm from? Looks like a WFB Chaos warrior/marauder arm (axe/morgenstern), plus the top of a SM company banner. Am I right? Good work on the wolf robes, it's amazing. Eikrem
Bifrons is close enough, the Crozius arm is from a WFB Chaos Knight Mace, with the mace part cut off and replaced with SM Command Squad top. Thanks for looking and for the comments. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189245-couple-of-space-wolves/#findComment-2244142 Share on other sites
Night Runner
I like your interpretation of a Wolf Priest especially using DA robes and adding the fur. Very nice touch. I never thought of it myself. Just one thing. You do know that Wolf Priest cannot have Wolf Claws? Unless it's just for show or it was included in the FAQ (since I did not read it all yet). Personally I never really liked the Wolf Helmet, it seems a bit cartoonish, but I think you put it to good use and effect with the WP. Congrats. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189245-couple-of-space-wolves/#findComment-2244148 Share on other sites
Eikrem
I didnt know that Wolf Priests couldn't have wolf claws, I only got the idea from seeing another Wolf Priest with a claw. I dont play much anyway, just in it for the modelling/painting for the moment so I will make the arm detachable so that if I do start playing I can change to something legal. SnorriSnorrison
The Wolf Priest is fantastic, the fur has come out very well! I am not sure if I have seen it correctly, but might it be possible that there are some mould-lines on the Rosarius? Still well done. Eikrem
Im not going to lie to you Snorri, it is possible I may have missed one or two mould lines here and there. I am planning to go over him again before I basecoat him so hopefully I will clear them all before beginning painting. I am pretty sure that you will keep up your already fantastic work on what you still want to do and of course the paintjob and I am really looking forward to see it! Pretty neat idea, I must admit. The Chaos Knight arm gives the guy some barbarian feeling which fits him really well. Eikrem
I really want all my models to be game legal and have found a bolter to use with instead of the wolf claw now. All thoughts and comments very much appreciated. http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/New%20Priest/WolfPriestFrontBolt.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/New%20Priest/WolfPriestLeftBolt.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/New%20Priest/WolfPriestRightBolt.jpg Thanks for looking. MassiveHavoc
I love the Wolf Priest. I will admit to liking the claw better, but the bolt pistol still does the model justice I think. I love the overall pose of the model, he seems to be just striding forward calmly. Capt. Lysander
I like the pose, but I think his crozius should be used to direct friendlies to attack. Eikrem
I can see what you mean Capt. I shall reposition the arms when I get back from work today and put some new photos up for more thoughts. Eikrem
I have switched over the arms so the crozius is now raised and the bolter arm is at his side. http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WolfPriestRaisedCrozius.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WolfPriestRaisedCroziusRight.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WolfPriestRaisedCroziusLeft.jpg I am thinking of going back to how it was before, but at the same time I do really like both poses. Any thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated around now. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189245-couple-of-space-wolves/#findComment-2246217 Share on other sites
Capt. Lysander
As MassiveHavoc put, if you want him striding into battle in a calm pose, I would go with pose number 1. If you want to go for a more action orientated one, go for pose number 2. Good luck :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189245-couple-of-space-wolves/#findComment-2247110 Share on other sites
Eikrem
It has been a while since I have done anything in regards to this Wolf Priest. Really I've still not done that much, but thought I would update what I have done so far. I have decided to go with the Priest calmly strolling through the battle look, with pistol raised and pointed at an unseen target. http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest%20WIP/WolfPriestWIP1.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest%20WIP/WolfPriestWIP2.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest%20WIP/WolfPriestWIP3.jpg I need to do alot of cleaning up on him above the waist, add a wash or two more to some of the recesses and do some more on the finer detailing. He also needs his other arm, backpack, head, shoulder pads and base, all of which I am working on albeit quite slowly! C+C very much welcome. Thanks for looking. Eikrem
I have done a little bit more painting, so thought I would update with what I have done, plus I've taken a couple of pictures of more Space Wolf models I have got left to paint. Wolf Priest: http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest%20WIP/WolfPriestWIP4.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest%20WIP/WolfPriestWIP5.jpg Ulrik and Njal http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WIP/UlrikandNjal.jpg Everything thats left, which includes painting all the models sprayed white, plus stripping and repainting the Blood Claws and Bjorn in the background. http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/WIP/AllWIP.jpg Thanks for looking, C+C always welcome. Eikrem
Done a bit more on the Wolf Priest now, he is fully assembled and I just need to finish off the shoulder pad (not sure what colour to do it yet), the black section of the crozius arcanum (again Im still thinking about what to do there - was going to go with a marble effect, but I wont be able to achieve a decent enough effect. May go for lightning or flame effects instead. Any other ideas?). Also got to go back over and do some more highlighting, but largely he is mostly complete. Next time this is updated, he will be finished. http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest%20WIP/WolfPriestWIP6.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest%20WIP/WolfPriestWIP7.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest%20WIP/WolfPriestWIP8.jpg http://i743.photobucket.com/albums/xx75/FoolishBadger/Wolf%20Priest%20WIP/WolfPriestWIP9.jpg C+C would be very helpful.
