commander alexander
Ok so here is the tutorial I have made tonight for a frost blade, I will be focusing on the teeth only in the tutorial, but you may ask me any questions you like. It is certainly not a professional quality paint job, but it is what I have come up with, and will be using on my table-top models. *And I painted this very quickly, and in as few stages as possible for a semi low/medium table-top quality. You can easily blend the colors in more steps or go darker or lighter, as the technique is drybrushing. If you do not know what dry brushing is starks333 has great tutorials on dry brushing, which I myself have essentially just begun to learn.* What you need; -Regal Blue -Enchanted Blue -Skull White -Model with a chain weapon -smallest brush possible -cup of water -Something suitable to mix paints and water on. I use white primer for easier coverage and less, thinner layers of paint. http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo353/caj007/40k275.jpg I thin all of my paints on a pallet before I apply them. We will start with the Regal Blue. Throughout the tutorial I use drybrushing, which requires the paint to be watered down to a milky consistency. But we do not need to do that with this step, just thin enough that it goes on smoothly. http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo353/caj007/40k284.jpg Now apply it to the teeth of the weapon. You do not have to get the very edges of the teeth, but I would recommend it for a smoother better blue. http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo353/caj007/40k305.jpg After the Regal blue has dried, water down your Enchanted Blue, and apply it to the bottom of the teeth, using a dry brushing method. http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo353/caj007/40k304.jpg The last stage, is using a 2/3 parts Enchanted Blue to Skull White. Again I dry brushed it the very edges of the teeth. http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo353/caj007/40k321.jpg http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo353/caj007/40k322.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189262-frost-bladechain-sword-tut/ Share on other sites
