SunTzu
Hey guys, I just opened my wolf pack box and was looking at the sprues. How do we make our Grey hunter squads with what comes in the box? Grey Hunters have, bolt pistol, close combat weapon, and a bolter. There isnt any holstered bolters on the sprues. You can give them a bolter and chain sword, a bolt pistol and chain sword or even a bolt pistol and bolter, but not all three. So what are we to do? Jonny Wolf
You don't have to WYSIWYG standard equipment. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189318-grey-hunters/#findComment-2241346 Share on other sites
Wolf Guard Dan
Base equipment like that does not apply under the rule of WYSIWYG. It is for upgrades. No matter how you decide to go they count as having all three (Bolter, BP, CCW). If you ever play anyone that would try to dispute that, well he is not a gentleman I would want to play against anyways. SunTzu
Ok Thanks! Didnt not know that standard equipment didnt have to follow the WYSIWYG rule My army of wolves gets to hit the table a bit faster now. =) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189318-grey-hunters/#findComment-2241353 Share on other sites
theonelawler
I got my Grey hunter holding Bolters and Chainswords so i can tell the apart from Blood Claws. The only ones that are different are a few with Plasma Guns and one holding a Bolter and Plasma Pistol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189318-grey-hunters/#findComment-2241357 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
*shrugs* You dont have to show all their equipment to be WYSIWYG- you just have to show their equipment that is non-standard, and assemble/paint your minis in such a way that your opponent can tell the difference. With SWs this shouldnt be a problem- if theres a single bolter anywhere in the squad, its a GH pack, and once you have them painted the shoulder pads for the pack markings should be in different colors. commander alexander
The problem with painting them to tell the difference, is if you only have a few models and need to switch them around. Grey Mage
Well, if your using the same models for different things your opponent is probly going to be confused... so taking a few minutes before battle each time to clarify what units are what and where is probly a good idea. Heck, even with painted shoulder pads and bolters in some squads I run into opponents who cant tell the difference some times, because I have a couple old GH packs I run alot without any bolters at all. slmellon
To get a different look on some of my GHs i gave them BPs/CCWs and then "slung" their bolters on their backs. That way they have all three. Just a thought. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189318-grey-hunters/#findComment-2241520 Share on other sites
commander alexander
Just something to think about, if you plan on running blood claws often, save the bolt pistols and CCWs for them, and just use bolters on the grey hunters. Skirax
Just put all three combinations in the squad - about three with BP and CC, a couple with bolter and then another ith Bolter and CC or BP. That leaves at least four models to allow any squad upgrades.
