I think it's a great start and you are definately on the right track, since your work is neat and well defined. But you need to highlight and shade the colours used. White is a very difficult colour to paint. On the recent White Dwarf with the Skaven cover (I forgot the issue number) there is a very good tutorial on painting white. The model used was Korsaro khan of the White Scars. IMO you should read throught it. It will certainly help you with ideas on how to shade white (which cannot be highlighted).

I hope it helps. Keep up the good work and post more pics when you can. :D

Yeah, go to gamesworkshop.com and search for space marine painting tips. You need to highlight, shade and black line better. Good start, but dont paint your whole army before reading the tips from the pros. Helped me and my wife learn to paint better. Edit: Oh my, and lest we forget washes!

You should try a very watered down GW brown wash across the entire model. A watered down brown can shade almost anything, especially your colors white, blue and red, plus your splash colors green and brown leather.

Try it on a test tactical marine. I think you might fall in love with the one step shading.

Love the colour scheme, as some folk have said before lil bit of highlighting /shading and they'll look even better, and may i ask sharp based one "the" sharp played by sean bean , if so name the scouts after the chosen men <_< also off topic found it cool when i saw you live in Northampton only due to i live in kettering but other than that nice marines

I think with Sharp you probably should have left the ghilie suit off. I would have done one of the rolled up camo-cloaks instead. Also the bipod should be farther back, at least to where the barrel extends. Where it is placed now is partly why (in my mind) why it looks more like he is a machine gunner... same kind of pose but that can't really be helped.

I agree with the highlighting, still learning how to do this one myself *cough*

I have now got a Drop Pod (yay for me :D). I worked 'till midnight to get it done, so here's the finished product. c&c appreciated as always.

My Drop Pod is for my Sternguard and the First Company Comander, who is count as Lysander, btw. I have called him Leo, seeing as the Chapter is named: Lions Rampant, Leo seemed rather fitting.
