Alex.ö
So I had a Grey Knight Terminator lying around doing nothing at all and I figured I'd do something with it. Got a hold of a pair of lightning-claws and this is the result. This took about two days of more or less serious painting since I´ve been unable do anything useful with my time in this :cuss cold! No major conversion at all, just removing the storm-bolter clip on his left hip and putting a purity seal over it to cover up any traces. I´ve learnt that 1) Painting Lightning claws is a pain, and 2) Painting white is even worse. And yes, it's still wip. Got to do some detailing, highlights and the entire base. Pics came out a bit funky with the lighting, got to retake better pics once I'm done with the mini. It's not OSL from the claws, it's the light I used. (Allthough it looks quite good... ;) ) http://errur.com/f/download/5241_Front.JPGhttp://errur.com/f/download/5902_Left.JPG http://errur.com/f/download/4803_Right.JPG So, this guy shold have about four wounds I take it? "You just lost your arm" "`Tis just a flesh wound!" Apart from that though: Thoughts and criticism? I'm doing everything I can to keep learning and enhancing my techniques so I appreciate any and all feedback I can get. dizzy-xc
Oh man, I think you missed the boat. Imagine how pissed off you'd make a deamon hunter player or a space marine player if a chaos champion managed to come across armor like that and pervert it! infyrana
Very nice, love the base. Oh man, I think you missed the boat. Imagine how pissed off you'd make a deamon hunter player or a space marine player if a chaos champion managed to come across armor like that and pervert it! I've always liked the heads on Greyknights... since I'm starting a Death Guard army, your comment near begs me to pick up some and convert them into nurgalised repears :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189375-the-black-knight/#findComment-2242311 Share on other sites
Alex.ö
Heh. I really like the looks of the GK too and I can't see why one can't do anything to them? Go ahead and paint them purple with green dots if you feel like is what I think. There are Female SM-armies out there so why not a black grey knight? Firenze
Noooooooo not another grey knight turned into a space marine nooooooo That has to be the most flawed saying ever! ;) Not too shabby. I always wanted to see a GK termie with Claws or a TH. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189375-the-black-knight/#findComment-2242727 Share on other sites
Glaeken Templaris
Nice Conversion mate. Would make an awesome addition to a Sword Brethren Assault Squad. Master Toddius
I'll give you a hint: The best way to paint white is not to paint white. Vallejo carries extremely light shades of grey that is just below white. Then use white to trim the edges as a final highlight -- not the base color. Works wonderfully, especially accompanying black armor. Otherwise, cool conversion. And the paintjob is coming along nicely as well. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189375-the-black-knight/#findComment-2242782 Share on other sites
Alex.ö
Master Toddius: I was considering the idea of using light grey but I opted not to. Now afterwards I can only say that I regret it. I should've used grey... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189375-the-black-knight/#findComment-2242846 Share on other sites
Capt. Lysander
Interesting conversion, it certainly works, and allows the Templar a more ornate feeling.
