Terminators Legion of the Damned and COmmand Squad WIP

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

I just bought the sweet new LOTD minis, they are really the best sculpts GW has ever made in my opinion. I also bought a command squad which if any of you know me much, I never ever build anything straight out of the box, converting it ever so slightly or even a massive conversion and a little kitbashing!

First Up

The LOTD Squad. no conversions here of course!

The Command Squad Members

Company Champion Cyrus and Warden Darius (Daryoosh)

I am trying blending on Cyrus's tabard.

A little fluff on them...

Darius: He is a warden of the Crimson Guardians, one of the most feared officers in the chapter especially among politicians. He serves as the executioner carrying out orders only from The Chapter Master or the divine will of the Emperor. He seeks out corrupt officials and executes them in the heart of their own stronghold, no one has ever escaped his judgment, he has even executed some of his own marines although that is never discussed in the chapter as they were seen as flawed marines, able to be corrupted by daemons (Fluffwise my chapter cannot be possessed). He lost his right arm due to the rot of Nurgle in a massice conflict nearly a decade ago, his face was also burned and his eyes replaced with glowing augmetics, he wears a black hood and a steel mask that give him a faceless visage of an executioner.

Cyrus: Unparalleled in swordsmanship, Cyrus is one of the greatest fighters in the chapter. He has served as one of Chapter Master Ryoto's body guards in recent years and his prowess is feared by all. Competent with nearly every close combat weapon in the armory, he can choose what ever weapon he wants to tear the enemy apart with. He is responsible for the victory over chaos on Tehram, where he fought against a chaos lord and took his head infront of the standing chaos marines. Those marines barely rose their bolters before the rest of the Crimson Guardians opened fire and tore them apart.

C&C

(PS there are 3 more marines in the Command Squad, I will post them once they are primed.)

your color pallete is a little lacking, i see red used on purity seals, tabards and shoulders all on the same model. perhaps you can blend the red with say, black to get a darker shade of red and vary it a little?

also, this is the pc&a section, lots of people view- but many don't post, dont let it get to you.

as far as the models are concerned, they are coming along nicely, but they need some highlights and additional layers of paint (the black shows through the parchment). keep it up, and post more pictures.

Howdy Terminatorfromhell yeah kinda sad about the 200 veiws but no comments.

BUT good work on the LOTD when I first read the title topic I was expecting a Lotd Termie until I realised but none the less good work How about trying that huh huh the Image of a Lotd Termie is pure awsomesauce.

Actually in the spring or whenever I have more free time, I plan on making a squad of lotd termies with gs skeleton ribcages, cracked helmets showing skulls, braziers with flames, flames on the legs and chains!

here are the two members done (a would like advice on what color to paint the champ's helmet though)

Enjoy!

~Terminatorinhell

which one the bolt pistol/power sword or the pointer? the pointer I would go for a bleached bone with highlights of skull white and the powersword one I would leave as is

Also after seeing your topic the first time I have come up with a Idea for my Libby for my Blood ravens but he is going to look a little like a chaplin since instead of a fleshy face he will have a flaming skull with wires running into the Phyhood of his termie armour (most likely modeled after GK TDA). also cant wait to see the Lotd termies once you have done them And one you have do done them you should Pm me either here or over at att

I like the red robes you've done, they look very effective.

any plans for some basing, they are looking very bare at the moment.

and it looks like you've done a nice attempt at glowing eyes, i think you just need to shade them better, a white dot in the corner of the eyes would be a start?

looks good so far

i have one advice

if its hard for you to paint red

try to use red foundation paint (mechrite red for ex.) and then the color that you like ;)

it covers much easier and you dont have to put multiple layers on it

btw i saw you wrote "mirus" on the shoulder

where are you from ? :) (just asking)

Me no see LOTD?

I was excited to see more Legion related material, but when I scrolled through I didn't see anything? is the pic in the first post down?

Edit: never mind, mind internets were broken. I see the pic now. Looking forward to seeing some paint on there.

Hah, nice you noticed that, the first line spells out Cyrus in Farsi, then underneath it is the chapter logo then Cyrus in english. I was born in the USA but my parents are Iranian so I tried to write the name on the pad and I may have mad a small mistake (I can speak it I just can't read and write it that well.)

cheers!

Where did you get the MKII/III helmet from? It looks great. Also, how did you make the chainsword conversion on the hooded marine? He's my favourite so far.

As for the champion's head, I think it should either be red or white, to signify an important status, and keeping in with the colour scheme.

The mkII helmet is from maxmini, here is the chainsword conversion:

materials: Khorne Berserker sheathed sword

Cut off a SM chainsword from the hand

then cut the handle of KB sword

finally put the two together! thats it!

Hey Termie wheres that cape from? is it the one from the plastic chaos termie lord?

Yep, the cape is from the Chaos Termie Lord sprue, just the connector has been trimmed and some extra bits have been added to it.

Our special guest star is nearly finished, it's Ryoto with his new "If you have to kill everything in the bloody room" look!

And yes I do realize the right shoulder pad is the same as the left one, I need to find another dreadnought leg pad....
