Plasma Pistols as a CCW getting an AP value or not?

BrB says normal CCW dont get AP bonuses, but a Plasma Pistol is a special weapon, right, so it's S and AP values should be used?

Any pistol used in close combat is a normal Close combat weapon.

A Plasma Pistol is not a special close combat weapon. A model would receive +1 attack for having a C.C.W. and a Plasma Pistol. You never fire ranged weapons while in close combat, so the strength or armor piercing value of a pistol is irrelevant. You may want to sit down and read the rulebook a few times.

Plasma pistols are actually quite dainty and slim weapons. The only reason they're so bulky is all the extra armour which allows you to smash it into someone's face.

The other thing to consider would be if you got an AP1 for the PP then you'd also have to stand the 'Gets Hot' roll of 1 as well. When it comes to the number of attacks that some PP wielders could have it would literally be a double edged sword.
