Hal
I finally have access to a camera, let the torrent of images begin! First up command squad. Unfortunately the camera dulls the green, it's a bit more vibrant in real life. C&C always welcome. More to come... Lavaman
Those look superb! Did you use a fineliner for the script? Or do you have the worlds steadiest hand? Hal
Thanks everybody! Â The script was painted with slightly watered down black and a citadel fine detail brush. Rythlan
I sat for a while trying to write about how great these look, and how they make me cry a little inside while I reflect on my own painting. I was only able to describe it in a brief recap of that moment. Â Good work. :tu: Â :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189750-hals-viridian-knights/#findComment-2248067 Share on other sites
Brother Argent
Awesome job. Love it, really. I just have to ask, how on earth did you get that green and white. They both look so smooth and well, awesome... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189750-hals-viridian-knights/#findComment-2248091 Share on other sites
Hal
@Silver Phoenix The mix of the green is a closely guarded secret, it stops a friend I play against from painting up dead marines in my chapter to adorn their foul chaos tanks! As for getting a smooth finish when painting the answer is simply that many thinned down coats are always better than one thick coat. Talking of white, here are my 2 finished Sternguard. More to come over the next few days. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189750-hals-viridian-knights/#findComment-2248116 Share on other sites
Brother Argent
I was asking because I'm just starting to paint an army in a similar scheme myself, only more Goblin Greenish. I can understand your reason for not wanting to share the recipe though. I guess I'll just be experimenting to get it right then. :o  Oh and the scary thing, I have a similar scheme with a similar Chapter symbol, wierd huh? I've just got a bit more white and a slightly different green. Your awesome marines shall act as my inspiriation. Hal
@GLD The heavy flamer support arm is just a standard bolter arm and an assault marine's hand with a cut down bolter grip attached.
