Test marine.

Looks good mate.

Just out of curiosity, and I may have missed it in an earlier post, but being an Assault Marine, shouldn't he have a yellow helmet... irrespective of whether he's JP'd or not? They're your guys so just an observation, but wondering whether you may have missed it or done it intentionally.

You're right of course, I was on auto pilot painting him. It was only when I got to the second marine that I realised my faux pas. So here is the correct scheme.

Ask and ye shall recieve. He's quite old now, but effective. Just like a dreadnought should be.

Cheers IronKobra, my one regret with him is not having the patience or forethought to buy proper close combat arms for him, like yours which is rather spiffing. I mean it acts well enough as a representation of a Furioso in game but to me looks like a black ironclad. Whereas yours looks like you've taken the time to convert it, ah well come april they may bring out CCW arms in plastic.

Haha, and I will rue the day they bring them out after that conversion!

It's amazing that the Dread Thread keeps going. So I've done some more work this evening. Neither of the Jump Pack marines are finished or indeed the Plasma Pistolier without the Jump Pack, but I haven't slackened off the pace...yet.

I know!!! Seriously, he has the "Furious Charge" of the painting world :D

(...but he must obviously pass his Ld checks as he finishes the models before starting a new one, unless he fails and gets Rage and has to immediately start on something else  )

I figured out I've painted over 27 models now since I started this thread just under two weeks ago. I think too much coffee may be the secret to unlocking the furious charge of painting. ;) I reckon I'm starting to falter on the Ld tests as I started the assault squads around the same time. (Starts seeing visons of hundreds of basecoated models littering his work space)

You're still way ahead of the game, bro. All my old stuff still needs the Green dip. Even then, I have to figure out how to emulate your painting with my meager skillz. I'm hoping to get a schedule like yours going, 2-3 figs a day. That should get me in a good way before April.

Btw I really dig your signature. I had forgotten that quote. I hope they provide proper exposition in the new 'dex about the importance of Sanguinius to the Imperium.

I wish I'd invested in some decent paint stripper, some of them are a bit thick with paint. I had to pull the heads off my JP Assault Squad because the paint was too thick on them. I basically cannibalizing older figures because I don't want to spend money on new stuff until the Codex is released.

On the sig, I was looking through the old books and there it was, amongst a load of other Blood Angel related fluff. You couldn't move for BA back in the day. I too hope that they expand on it a bit more, as well as the stuff about the Tower of Amareo, as it goes into a bit of detail about Amareo himself.

Oh and I got the non-JP squad done and have almost finished the JP squad. After this I'm gonna have a break I think and do some family friendly drinking. :)

I think in the time you have done you're entire assault squad (they look great by the way ^_^ ), I have looked at some rhino's a number of times and thought "I'll start tomorrow", painted half a sergeant, and glued two tactical marines together. Hmmm.......

*Boils kettle for the mother of all coffee's!*
