In all honesty, these are the worst models i've ever seen. You know, there are a lot of good tutorials on this forum. I suggest you spend a little time browsing them and then concentrate your efforts on a single model to start again :)

That was hardly constructive criticism. <_<

The first question I have is why aren't you priming your models? A primer coat will make the other paint layers go on smoother, and with less fuss.

I noticed that you're using craft paints. While there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, there are a few things about them you should know (I used to paint with them a lot as well when I was in collega nd working on a very limited income). Craft paints are cheaper than hobby paints because they're cheaper to produce. The pigments are typically not ground as fine, and the binders tend not to allow smooth blends and washes.

Despite that, you should attempt to thin your paints a tiny bit. See those huge lumps and bumps in your Rhino top plate? That's due to clumped paint that's too thick. Add a drop of water to the paint on your palette, so that it flows a little better. Sure, you'll need more coats to cover the surface, but it'll turn out better in the long run. You absolutely MUST prime the model before this, because thinned paint won't stick to plain plastic.

It looks like you might be paitning straight out of the paint pots, yes? That may be quick and easy, but you'll find in the long run that it limits your abilities because you can't thin the paint, creates washes, or good color blends. You also run the risk of fouling your paints with bitz and flakes of other colors by not cleaning your brush well enough between colors. One little clump of metallic paint flakes in your green will ruin the whole pot.

What sort of brush are you using? It looks like an investment in a nice, sable-hair brush from your local craft or hobby shop might help a lot wit your ability to keep colors in their proper spot.

Good start on your minis, but do try to prime the models before painting, and take your time with a quality brush and paints once you have the funds.

In addition to what ShinyRhino said, try to use a wetpallet. When I started, I didn´t even know what that was, but I´ve been using it for quite a time now and the results are more satisfying than everything I had dreamed of!

Here´s a video from Beasts of War, which I think might be the appropriate way to demonstrate the progress of painting a miniature:

Click!

There´s the wetpallet shown as well, it is really simple to build: Just take a plastic surface(I am using the plastic box from the Warhammer Fantasy Warhydra, but I think you can use almost everything), place a papertowel on it and that brown paper shown in the video, pour some water on it, and youre done!

Well, keep it up and make sure you prime your models. <_<

Hey guys I know your not trying to be overly harsh but Ive been in this hobby about 6-7 months and have been paint for just over a month maybe

@ Emperors Scourge looking at some of your models, not to be mean but you shouldn't talk

@ Lavaman I have looked at tuts here but I feel what works well for them doesnt work well for me and i dont use GW or Vallejo paints

@Shiny rhino I tried priming my dread my termies and the AoBR marines and captain while I felt it didnt work to well. and Ill try thining the paint out on the remainder of the marines. and yes i am using craft paints because right now is a tough time for my family so I cant ask my parents to buy me stuff cus of how expensive it is and at 16 with no income its hard to afford the nicer paints
