Son of Abaddon
quite a bunch you have there. try spray priming your tanks as it's less time consuming and brings a smooth coat of color onto the plastic. I tent to use "dupli-color" primer from their car range. it's light grey and serves my blood angels well. Nachocuban
Unfortunately I already have 3 tanks painted with a brushed on white undercoat, so a gray would make these stand out a little bit I think. I just use a big brush anyway and they turn out pretty well with the paints I use. Capt. Lysander
It is indeed quite a bit of painting to do. Looking forward to it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189949-nachocubanss-wip-thread/#findComment-2251951 Share on other sites
Nachocuban
After a long weekend of gluing and drilling holes for magnets I got most of my assembling done. Marines will have their bolters and backpacks glued on later, and I am going to attempt making blood angles shoulder pads either out of sculpee, melted sprue, or green stuff. I made a mold of sculpee of the tank commander shoulder pad that came with the baal. http://www.thepiratebase.com/assets/images/LPC6.JPG Only one of my preds will have the magnetized turret options as I didn't think of the idea until I had already assembled one turret with the AC. >.< The 2nd pred can be a rhino, or any of the 3 turrets, the side doors are magnetized as well as the sponson 'holder' piece. either of the preds can use the heavy flamers, or the heavy bolters as they magnetize into the holder itself. the ammo crates for each type of turret can be placed on as well. http://www.thepiratebase.com/assets/images/LPC2.JPG http://www.thepiratebase.com/assets/images/LPC3.JPG Each of the razorbacks has a solid door, and a storm bolter cupola that can put in place of options on it right now. http://www.thepiratebase.com/assets/images/LPC4.JPG You can see a couple other guys that I have been slowly working on in the background of that one. Another DC, and a replacement for my HG's company champion. Corbs is there too, but im not gonna work on him until I know whats going on in the new dex. Capt. Lysander
Magnetizing is both cost effective, and gives a bigger variety of options. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189949-nachocubanss-wip-thread/#findComment-2255999 Share on other sites
Nachocuban
After a month of being unable to get to my painting station, I finally got back into painting. First coat of red is on all the parts. Hope to have the 2nd coat done by the weekend, and then start the black, yay http://www.thepiratebase.com/assets/images/LPC7.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189949-nachocubanss-wip-thread/#findComment-2321886 Share on other sites

Nachocuban
I failed, I was trying to push this out today, but my painting was starting to get sloppy, and I would rather have good looking minis then not have to write an article! anyway, hes the current standing http://www.thepiratebase.com/assets/images/LPCFAIL.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189949-nachocubanss-wip-thread/#findComment-2342445 Share on other sites
Nachocuban
Current models are on pause... I've decided, I might re-do a good portion of my minis. With the new models out, I will be getting some cool new units, but my painting skills have improved drastically since I first started painting my army 8 or so years ago, and I don't want the new models and old models to clash as much as I know they will. And since I will be repainting things, I have always wanted to try a black undercoat, so I figured, why not, lets go for it. Will be testing out the new colors on my Old Dreadnought. Might even add some new parts to bring it in line with the new models. Here is the current model http://www.thepiratebase.com/assets/images/DreadPreFront.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189949-nachocubanss-wip-thread/#findComment-2350858 Share on other sites
