Dark Apostle Thirst
The firstborn was Tirea. Her being firstborn, she was put on the most pressure to prove herself, although most of the pressure came from within. She quickly learned that if she ever hoped to join the Sisters of Battle order of the Dusk Shadow that she must set aside all other nonsense that could so easily invade a girls life, and focus entirely on becoming the best of the best and therefore the most worthy to join the Orders ranks. The secondborn was Trierioc. He too saw that he must become worthy to join the Lords of the world, those who burned with overwhelming desire to right some incredible wrong and were unable to do it, despite them being so, so, so powerful. These were the Vengeance of Corax, and Trierioc knew that he must join them. Their incredible power called out to him, and his natural curiosity forced him to wonder how and who might have hurt ther almost Emperor-like father figure, Corax. The thirborn was Wytr. He looked up to his older brother and sister, and he loved them dearly. They loved him back, and taught him how to fight, the ways of Arkanyr, their world that they lived on, why the sun was bright and why the Emperor was so mighty, and all the other things that is shared between siblings that only siblings know. Thus Wytr grew to be a powerful fighter and very wise for a twelve year old, and he passed the tests to join the Vengeance of Corax chapter as a scout, but doing so woke something inside him. Something that was recognized by the Grey Knight who took a third of the psykers who made it into the Vengeance of Corax chapter, and made them servants of the Inquisition and the Emperor. When he became a full brother, he came back to Arkanyr, coincedentally at the same time his two older siblings came back. They met again for the first time in a long time, and at first they did not recognize each other. It was not long before they were helped by a civilian who was as old as Wytr, and they were surprised. Most of the brothers memory came back at that moment. None of them had expected to ever meet each other, yet a Sister Superior, a Spectre and a Grey knight they were, all alive for the time being. But the only one human was the Tirea. They all knew that in all likeliness she would die long before the her siblings. But they also knew that they would have precious little time to spend together as siblings, for they were going down different paths now. So they chose that should they see each other again, they would remain like siblings for as long as possible, only becoming Marines and servants of the Inquisition when they were shipped off to a campaign, away from their siblings. But perhaps the Emperor willed differently. They became part of a combined force of those who served the Inquisition, and those who served Corax. The Inquisitor currently assigned to look over the Vengeance of Corax was among many who wanted to know more of the Vengeance of Corax's inexplicable ability to 'phase' and since the chapter did not want to leave its best warriors, which were inevitably the Spectres, to be left unused against the various campaigns which the Vengeance of Corax involved itself in. So the combined force of a squad of Grey Knights, five squads of Sisters of Battle, four tactical squads of the Vengeance of Corax, a combat squad of Spectres, associated command and rhinos for each of the squads involved, excepting the Spectres who took a razorback instead, became the link that held the bonds of siblinghood together. They became known as the known as the Avatars of Love and War. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189961-love-and-war/ Share on other sites
Dark Apostle Thirst
Wytr jogged out of his room, and started going around the ship. He stretched out his mind to search for any taint of Chaos, and he kept it open as he did his rounds. He turned a corner, and he felt his sisters familiar mind. Although she was no psyker, she recognized his presence searching the ship, and quieted her squad. They nodded and went back to training under the direct gaze of the Sister Superior, and Tirea eventually felt her brothers mind withdraw. Wytr was jogging to the bridge when he felt his other sibling. Trierioc also recognized when the Grey Knight was searching for a taint of Chaos, and so was also able to warn the others in the room. He went back to listening about the various consequences of him phasing in a Gellar field by a more senior Spectre. Trierioc felt his brother close his mind respectfully when Wytr entered the bridge. Wytr spoke to his Justicar, telling him that he had detected no breaches in the Gellar field. He checked their progress on the map, which told them where they would be in realspace, and saw that they were two thirds of the way to Cryrie. He nodded to the captain of the Holy Fury, and as soon as he left the bridge he began to jog. Only 23 more hours, he told himself, and began to search once more. Eventually he met up with his siblings. They sat down, and the discussion began like this : "Wytr, if I phase you might not be able to tell where I am afterwards." "Oh really? You remember, I am a psyker. Just because you can supposedly dissappear from even the Warp doesn't mean the effect will last, your soul would show up as soon as you came back." At which point Tirea interjected "Psykers aren't perfect, Wytr, don't act like they are. Most eventually just become conduits for Chaos to invade or reality anyway." Her tone was dismissive and haughty, and her face reflected that - sarcastically. They all knew she was preaching to a deaf congregation, but Trierioc took it and said "See? The inquisition and the Ecclesiarchy definitely think so." He said this with a joking tone, but it left Wytr troubled. He did not show it as he said "Yes, but we aren't affected by what the Ecclesiarchy thinks, and if the Inquisition thoguht we were all so horrible then they wouldn't have the Grey Knights, paragons of justice, holies of holies, that which all others should aspire to!" So the conversation went, with them discussing what should be done about psykers when there was the comm system crackling saying "All passengers and personnel prepare to leave the Warp in three minutes." The trio looked at each other and left for their respective rooms. Wytr arrived at his first, and strapped himself in quickly, and began to pray for a smooth exit from the warp. Trierioc joined his brother Spectres soon after, and they practiced the mind calming ritual all had been taught. Lastly Tirea entered her squads room and quickly ordered that they immediately strap themselves in. Exactly three minutes after the comm had warned them, they left the Warp. It went very smoothly, and only Wytr noticed the Gellar fields shutting down. He immediately unbuckled and voxed his siblings, and they prepared for the imminent order for the squads to deploy. calgar101
Its a good story so far but my only major gripe is that Wytr and Trierioc would've had their minds wiped and wouldnt remember their sister at all.... Well, I don't know the details of the mind wipe fluff. They didn't know her, but because they spent most of the life with their siblings, and they were helped out, I believe it is possible for the memories to come back.
