However, the Tervigon is a lumbering blob of an HQ slot

HQ? I've not seen anyone playing using these as HQ's. Those slots are taken by Alpha Warriors and Tyrants.

The only MC they can go on is the Hive Tyrant and he ain't rolling on I:1.

The Alpha Warrior or Warrior Prime (whatever it is) get Lashwhips too.

I've found that Trygons are being deployed on the board more and more due to the fact they can move, fleet and assault when they begin on the table, unlike when they deep strike, and if you shoot at them you're not shooting the faster stuff like Flyrants and Stealers.

Yeah, the Tervigon is an HQ and not really that good of one either. After reading his entry, thought he was a decent "troop transport" heavy. Wasn't until I got to the back of the book, that I saw the hilarious truth.

Also, the Tyranid Prime is a respecced Warrior (infantry) size so he is not an MC. Warrirors can fill 3 slots this time around. (Prime = HQ , Warrior = Troops, Shrike = FA) The sick part is the little ninker is a dirt cheap HQ too!

Congratulations Hidden Wolf. There are crazy scary things in the new Nid codex, but knowing what to look out for is half your prep. You did Russ proud.

Keep up the bug squashing.

Actually you can have one Tervigon as a troop choice for every unit of Termagants in the force. I actually think a Tervigon could be annoying to face as a objective sitter. Take a good while to kill back there and can add if lucky up to six more units of termagants, while not as dangerous offensively itself.
