Brother matthew
Greetings Brothers! I have played a couple of games with the rune priest and really like this HQ choice a lot so I have been thinking about fielding Najal. My question you is, how do you field him? Do you all field him alone or have him run with WG or GH? In a drop pod or foot slogging? Please let this inexperienced wolf lord in on how you all field or would field this awesome character. --Brother Matt-- Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189987-njal-stormcallerwhat-to-do-when-he-gets-lonley/ Share on other sites
ORKILL
I always field him with WG in TDA Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189987-njal-stormcallerwhat-to-do-when-he-gets-lonley/#findComment-2251193 Share on other sites
rodgers37
The most successful time i have used him, was on his own, in the middle of the bored (well for his survival) Drop Podding him down has worked for me, once or twice, but only for the anlge of JOTWW (which would be the same, for a normal Rune Priest) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189987-njal-stormcallerwhat-to-do-when-he-gets-lonley/#findComment-2251196 Share on other sites
the jeske
better to use 2 RP, then a single njal. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189987-njal-stormcallerwhat-to-do-when-he-gets-lonley/#findComment-2251210 Share on other sites
Freman Bloodglaive
I have a similar policy. For the cost of Njal you can take nearly 3 (and certainly 2) other Rune Priests. That said, I only have the old power armoured model too. Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
i use him in almost every game i play. i love him. he is retardedly awesome and has every psychic power for any situation that may arise. his added chart of face wreakin just makes him that much better. and i never, ever place him on his own. if he is on his onw i either screwed up bad or have a sneay plan to play.he is too awesome to risk to a stupid play. he either is escorted by a GH pack, or by my WL and fully kit out WG in TDA pack. that makes for the best protection (lots of storm shields...and arjac) and a massive hammer to hit opponents with. and i detach him when a risky combat comes up to the nearest GH unit. SamaNagol
What benefit would you get from taking 2 RPs? You can still only use one Rune Staff dispell attempt, and Njal can cast 2 powers a turn. He's much better than 2 RPs. ashen
Heya, this is my first post here so, woohoo! Anyways, on topic. I agree with some OP I use two rune priests and find that they do just as good a job for cheaper. It allows you to control the battlefield more, something which the space wolf rune priests excell at, plus they are more survivable with 4 wounds rather than 2. I also always give one terminator armour so he has at least some attempt at an invul save. Hope this helps, Ashen Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/189987-njal-stormcallerwhat-to-do-when-he-gets-lonley/#findComment-2251659 Share on other sites
