Spacefrisian
Was wondering if anyone was able to make a list with 13th co in mind without use of any vehicle. I for one was thinking on relying on Fast attack to hold the enemy in possition and Long Fangs to soften them up, SW Scouts would be an option as well due to the Obel thing. I also think using Wulfen for Bloodclaws fits fluffwise due to berserkiness. BTW. Marking one for Wulfen in every unit seems weird to me even for 13th co. So i won't be doing that ever. rodgers37
I think you've got the tactic there haven't you? Fast attack out in front, followed up by Grey Hunters, with Long Fang support :D in theory that should work.... I like the idea of using drop pods to represent the Gate ability being represented. You could take the drop pod footprint and create a model to represent a warp portal. Demonslayer
I like the idea of using drop pods to represent the Gate ability being represented. You could take the drop pod footprint and create a model to represent a warp portal. Maybe you could use the old Vortex Grenade template if you have any and pop them out. What I'll like to know, will the gate disappear and if not how will it effect LoS and terrain movement. Thranquil
I like that drop pod representing Gate idea, but if you are using the drop pod rules surely you have to have some sort of similar LOS blocking structure to represent the Gate. How about taking the drop pod basic structure and 'fenrisifying' it - i.e. making a runic archway into the warp? (Kinda makes sense that the Rune Priests would want their warp constructs to be vaguely more familiar and imperial than some random flowing chaotic mess. Quillen
Go to the local craft store and buy a few foam balls. Lob off about a 5th from one side. Paint it all blue and purple and swirelly and call it a warpgate. Just use the rules for a drop pod. Then you're a 13th company. It's super cheap and you can take you pod and find one close to the size of it. Just remeber it does not truely block line of sight, so they and you can shoot through it. Just like a drop pod. I would also make wispy tendrals coming off it like a Pod door. I know I hide my guys behind them and the angled fins. Grimtooth
Its a one time thing and that doesn't say gate to me. I think its personal. I think you need to work with what you have. Old 13th Co Gate was able to be used each turn for unit movement. However since we no longer have the power, the only way to symbolize the sudden arrival on the battlefield, as if from the warp, would be to use the drop podding rule and then model a drop pod sized warp portal. I am not saying it replaces it perfectly, but to symbolize coming from the warp, it is really all we have right now.
