Expanding the Crusade LPC style

For the LPC I vowed to build/paint a squad of Black Templar Sword Brethren as well as Chaplain Grimaldus and retinue...here's what i got so far....

 

Sword Brethren from least finished to almost finished:

*all of these models are awaiting shoulder pads and backpacks from ebay....

i hope to get this guy equipped with dual lighting claws...speaking of which...anyone know where to get power armor lightning claws?

for most of the models I mixed Bezerker models and the BT upgrade kit...Chaos armor is more decrative/older and therefore more suited for the 'veteran squad' of the Templars. I want to give this guy a bearded space puppies head, and a combat shield. I went with the axe to make him different...'cuz that's how he rolls.

Again, Chaos bitz (helmet in this case) look more impressive...this guy needs a chain sword...

I need to repaint the text on the shield and paint the POWER of the power sword.

the halbred is wire, axe blade, combat knife, Templar crosses and some hair locks from the bottom of the chain axe. I wanted these Sword Brethren to stand out and what a better way than a sharp/pointy thing on a long stick (counts as a CCW). I obviously need to spend some more time on the shield...red skulls?!...ridiculous.

The robes are nice and clean. Are some of the grey highlights battle-damage? If they are, then good job on that. They look very much like chipped paint.

Capn' Lysander: The grey streaks were initially bad brush strokes that unintentionally worked out ^_^

the capes on all these guys are my frist attempt at using greenstuff...i'm slowly getting the hang of it.

I know the highlights are obnoxiously white, but i think white makes the armor more highlights more distinctive when you're standing 3 feet above them :lol:

I love this guy, I couldnt find a power armor lightning claw for a left arm so I made one from 3 combat knives and a powerfist. Again those Dark Angel back packs, letting a Sword Brethren marine (Sword Brother?) armed with claws still be able to carry a sword...with style.

I finally got around to painting him...and basing him...I still have to finish painting the retinue.

I like the pose you've given to the one "I need to repaint the text on the shield and paint the POWER of the power sword."

I don't practice fencing, but it sure looks like a fencing move.

I like it a lot.

Of course, he wouldn't be able to draw that sword: he's using powerfists :sweat:; he would crush it if he tried.

 

Really nice work, I like the conversions, whether small or big, and the thought put into them.

Ha ha, good point there. but, I dont think he would need to worry about that sword considering the 7 'swords' mounted on his knuckles :D, and besides...Im no experton power armor but i think, even without the lc's, it would be very difficult to draw that blade...

their skin pigment is grayish-green that really doesn't show up in the photos well no matter how i light them...

and of course my 2010 LPC Vow defending a tomb from the forces of...desk clutter or something obnoxious...

I had these models finished in Febuary but got distracted by modeling a jump chappy and an alternative Helbrecht model (I much dislike the GW Helbrecht model).
