Hfran Morkai
It is a shame for Planetstrike (but I've never played a game yet) that they can't teleport because that would be nasty, they've not been able to for at least 9 years but I've never had the opportunity to have mine deep-strike so not really missing anything, apart from the capability to assault on the turn thy arrive during planetstrike missions. We're the only Space Marine chapter in the galaxy who refuse to teleport (unless it was essential, fluff, no place in games) but I see no biggie. How often do you want to deepstrike an expensive unit tricked out for combat? whitewolfmxc
They can telepport in Planet strike , as it says all untis that nroamlly dont have it will have it (well certain types of units anyway) , but they cant assult that turn they arrive due to they dont have deep strike rules included in profile unlike codex termies PS: were the first (or second ?) marine book that lets termies inside drop pods lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190090-differences-between/page/2/#findComment-2254506 Share on other sites
Bartali
Oh, and btw, just to make sure I didnt miss any updates, the DA are limited to 15 Termies, plus IC's and the Space Wolves can take 30 plus IC's? Thats right, isnt it? 45 if you take Belial Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190090-differences-between/page/2/#findComment-2254574 Share on other sites
Hear da Lamentation
but if you take Grimnar - you take termies as troops - in which case you could have a shed load I would imagine. Chodjinn
but if you take Grimnar - you take termies as troops - in which case you could have a shed load I would imagine. Full TDA WG Army with Logan can have 60 TDA models but no more (exclusing ICs) (6 squads of ten WG, all your Troop slots). But that's a LOT of points!!! Grey Mage
but if you take Grimnar - you take termies as troops - in which case you could have a shed load I would imagine. Full TDA WG Army with Logan can have 60 TDA models but no more (exclusing ICs) (6 squads of ten WG, all your Troop slots). But that's a LOT of points!!! 2255pts, with just Logain and 60 completely unupgraded terminators that are likely to get their arses handed to them by anyone with AP 2 weaponry or a Dreadnaught. Minimum of 2500 to make them close to effective, and even then... more 3k when you can say theyre actually a force capable of taking whats throw at them in any situation- and then your playing apocalypse, and the whole thing goes to hell. Lord Ragnarok
More expensive as well. We have the options you don't, for the most part, but we also pay dearly for some of them. Our TH/SS termi is over 150% as expensive as the Marine counterpart. (And don't tell me Counter-Charge is worth 21pts to you or your an idiot). The real thing that will set SW and DA terminators apart is, hate to say it, wound allocation. We can do things you can't and it's the reason Woofwing can be done effectively imo. Let's watch the personal attacks. Keep the discussion civil. Plain and simple. Wolf Lord Hallbjorn
Two of the people I play with regularly are Dark Angels players. One of them has a large Deathwing force aside from his 'regular' forces. Both of them have complained extensively about things that used to be 'Dark Angel things' being put in the 5th ed vanilla codex. Then, when the new codex came out for the Wolves, they cried about Grimnar allowing us to have our own version of Deathwing and our base wolf guard terminators being 7 pts cheaper per model than their vanilla counterparts. I keep telling them to look to the future and just wait for their stop on the codex express.
