chaplainmikey
Hi, Just after New year i started a Space Wolves army and I'm going to log my progress on here so i can get some useful insight from all the Russ fans on here. :) Heres what i have so far. Wolf lord(needs a decent base): http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/Photo0178.jpg Spare parts lord who i think has a slight super-hero vibe: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/Photo0179.jpg Wolf guard: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/Photo0180.jpg A nearly completed test model. Not at all sure about the red on him, might change it and go for a standard Ragnar Blackmane company markings instead: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/Photo0170.jpg And finally, progress on the rest of the Grey Slayers: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/Photo0176.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/Photo0177.jpg Hopefully I'll be updating this soon as I'm taking part in a week long challenge and these Space Wolves are a part of the models i'm attempting to paint this week. Comments and criticism welcome. Cheers, Mike. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190196-a-space-wolves-blog/ Share on other sites
commander alexander
I like them, how did you do the red? :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190196-a-space-wolves-blog/#findComment-2254032 Share on other sites
Dexter Kong
I actually like the red. Since you are going for a true grey and not the standard Shadow Grey (which is blue), I'd add in some sparse touches of gold and brown here and there to jazz things up and keep it from being monochrome. I think this is the first time I've seen red as the dominate secondary color on Wolves before, and I really like it. chaplainmikey
Finished a Grey Slayer today, minus his base, and i've nearly finished the other 4. Heres the finished marine: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/Photo0182.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/Photo0184.jpg And the other 4: http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s301/mikeymouatt/Photo0181.jpg I like them, how did you do the red? If i remember correctly,it was something like this: Mechrite red base, wash with Devlan mud, highlight with blood red and another wash with baal red to add a bit of depth. Hope that helps, and sorry for ditching the red with my guys. Cheers, Mike Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190196-a-space-wolves-blog/#findComment-2255340 Share on other sites
Capt. Lysander
I'm liking the 'spare parts lord' and his pose. Your painting is very good, both clean and mellow.
