Flesh Tearer Chaplain

Fracture

Recommended Posts

Morning gents.

I'm planning on a Flesh Tearer army when the new BA codex comes out. I can't wait to see the Seth model. But in the mean time I've knocked this guy up. Only problem I have is I cant quite decide on which head to use or which way it should look.

So here's 4 pics and hopefully some comments from you fine people will help me decide.

Hope you like him

Pose No.1. This is the pose I'm thinking of most. Puts most of the attention on the crozius as he has it raised.

Same head but different pose. This time the focus is a bit more on the trophy but the crozius is still pretty prominant.

Here's the same to posses with the different head. its been sprayed black so sorry if you can't make out the detail. The horns are going to be removed so it will look like this head I did for my Night Lord

So on the Chaplain.

Pose one.

Pose two.

Thanks for looking guys.

Nice work, I would go for pose 1, Looks to me like he is shouting a challenge to allcomers.

As for the heads my personal preference is the first head, even without the horns the second head just looks chaosy. Can't wait to see him finished (whichever head you choose).

Personally i'd go for the 1st pose with the second head, to me it looks like he's ordering the DC to push forward which i really like also im not really too keen on the 2nd pose for some reason which i cant really pin down but either way youve still got an awesome looking model!

I vote for the first head and first pose.

However, if I may suggest something, what about trying to position the head so that it looks slightly downward as if he was about to strike something below him. That would suggest he is above all. Just an idea...

I agree with this idea. The way the breastplate sticks out might make it a pain to pull off but it would look amazing. Honestly I think the second head is too chaos-like for a loyalist marine, as brutal as the Flesh Tearers may be. Maybe if there was some kind of renegade twist on your army.

Cheers for the replies gents. Think thats made up my mind for the head and pose. Only problem with making that model look down is the head has a bit of a pointy chin on it and the high collar on the torso get's in the way.

@Vulkan454- Yup, thats the cassius model with bits filed and drilled off to remove the head (that was a pain in the arse) and Ultra bits.

However. I've got another trophy head in mind. Its the eversor one. the heads a bit smaller and much better detailed, but to fit in in means cutting out the hand part of the claw. I don't suppose anyone on here has any old malcadons they want to get rid of do they?

Thanks.

I second your choice of going with the 1st head, and pose. The second pose looks to me more like he's sticking out his tounge at someone whereas the first is a battleroar or glare.

The eversore head swap could be cool, but like you said, involving a lot of carving and cutting.

Best of luck mate, it's looking good so far!

Thanks for the further comments.

The claw is from the old necromunda malcadon spyrer. I hate the newstyle lightning claws witch are just power fists with blades. I try and use the malcadon claws for power armour as they actually look fast.

I like the idea of using a chain axe. Now thinking if there's a way to convert the eagle wings into chain blades.

Well you could take the eagle head that's on the bottom of some chainswords, mount it at the top of the shaft, then take DA upg. sprue and put the wings on the sides of hte head, that might work.. Or do it simply by paint ( painting the head of the axe as a wing ).

Could be kewl my friend, I say try it and see how it works out.

Right, Had a cut around on another claw with a different trophy head hel in it. Not sure what I think of this one. The detail is better and the scale isbetter too. Just not sure about the had holding it. Its kind of forced out at am angel by the claws.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

The Flesh Eaters are an interesting chapter. Due to the lack of Marines, will you be working more on assault marines, to represent their succumbing to the Black Rage? I like the chaplain: looks like one the brutal chapter would have.

It will indeed be assault marines, Many many assualt marines. A mix of some with jump packs and some in las cannon razor backs with melts guns for tank busting. Doubt I'll have anything troop carried with a range of over 24". Just really hoping the Seth scult turns up a winner.

Lovely conversion, I never thought that Cypher backpack would look so good on anything other than a Dark Angel; but you have pulled it off! ;)

I love that head as well, where is it from?

Arenis

I have to agree. A brilliant concept. Congrats B)
