LPetersson
Hey all, Another Battle Report from the Danish Werebear in London :P Mission: Annihilation Deployment: Pitched Battle Points: 2000 Space Wolf Forces: Njal Stormcaller in TDA 2x Lone wolves in TDA SS/TH 3x 6xLong Fangs with MLs 2x 10xGH with 2xPG 1xPF 2x 5xGH with 1 flamer 2x 3Swiftclaws +1Attack Bike 1xPF 2xRazorbacks with TL-LCs Each Swiftclaw pack have a Wolf Guard with Combi-Melta/Frost Blade assigned assigned and one WG with with FrostAxe and Combi-Melta goes to my Grey Hunters. Necron Forces: 2x Destroyer lords with Res orb + Warscythe 2x 20 Warriors 2x 2 Heavy Destroyers 3x 3 Wraiths 3x 10 Flayed ones (Or there abouts) I think that's about it... I got turn 1, but the foul zombie robots from space managed to seize the initiative... Deployment: I had two squads of Long Fangs behind the barricades and one squad in the ruin on the right. I had Njal+5 Grey hunters on the left, with 5 more Grey Hunters behind them. My bikers and lone wolves were on each flank and 2 squads of 10 Grey hunters on the right flank. My razor backs were positioned for maximum board coverage. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2660/4206958286_ac9536ac8e_b.jpg The necrons put two squads of Warriors+Destroyer Lord and 2 squads of heavy destroyers at the back while he infiltrated a 3 squads of flayed ones into the ruins. Behind them there is another lord with 2 squads of 3 wraiths. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2703/4206200961_b79348ab1a_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2657/4206202179_c8fd385aa2_b.jpg Necron turn 1: The Flayed ones move forwards while staying in cover, but thanks to some dire Difficult Terrain rolls, don't get very far. The lord + Wraiths move up behind them. The heavy destroyers manage to not hit anything and the warriors stay where they are. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2505/4206204853_400ce725ab_b.jpg Space Wolves turn 1: The clear and present danger is fairly obvious, so the bikers on the right turbo boost to the left flank, while the Grey hunters start Running to the left. The bikers on the left move further to the left and shoot at the flayed ones. So does the long fangs while Njal casts murderous hurricane and one of the flayed one squads are wiped out. Space Puppies 1 - Necrons 0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2667/4206964754_e6bf76675f_b.jpg Necrons turn 2: Most of the flayed ones get up again, and join one of the two remaining units. The warriors move forwards a bit. Annoyed by the Long Fangs in the ruins, the heavy destroyers try to bring down the ruins, but only shake it. The Wraiths + Lord + Flayed ones all surge forwards although the flayed ones are hampered by the difficult terrain. The wraiths manage to take down 1 biker while one of the wraiths bite it. The necron Lord charges the Lone Wolf and kills him :-O Bloody warscythe ignores both invul and normal armour saves... Ouch. Space Puppies 1 - Necrons 0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2572/4206967626_7be3b504a1_b.jpg Space wolves turn 2: At this point there is much shooting at the wraiths and Njal casts Jaws of the World Wolf which sucks down the Necron lord and his accursed Resurrection Orb. Bikers, Njal and both squads of Grey hunters all charge the remaining wraiths and put down all but one. Space Wolves 4 - Necrons 0 http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4004/4206970738_27f6136708_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4043/4206972128_ac0e9df557_b.jpg Necrons turn 3: 4 Wraiths make their WBB rolls (Sigh) The (Unpainted) flayed ones and the wraiths assault the bikers and send them into the Red Dream :-o The other Flayed ones Assault my other bikers, but they manage to fend of the assault and inflict horrendous damage back. The flayed ones try to run away but are swept away by my brave bikers. Space Wolves 5 - Necrons 1 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2797/4206973502_e96be7876e_b.jpg Space wolves turn 3: Much shooting at the wraiths/flayed ones and then full out assault from Njal/Grey Hunters/Bikers and the flayed ones + Wraiths are wiped out. Space Wolves 7 - Necrons 1 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2545/4206216283_c4ec7d98fc_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2552/4206217619_1a2f3f8a50_b.jpg Necrons turn 4: By this point the Necron Warriors have made it into the centre ruins where they are rpeparing to make their last stand. Space Wolves 7 - Necrons 1 http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035/4206219039_e2734a93b1_b.jpg Space Puppies turn 4: All units head towards the warriors and run rather than shoot. The long fangs naturally fire all their missiles at the unholy menace. Space Wolves 7 - Necrons 1 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2563/4206979096_e9bffc23de_b.jpg Necrons turn 5: The necrons move out on both sides of the ruins and shoot ineffectively at the brave sons of Russ. Space Wolves 7 - Necrons 1 http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4060/4206221895_2c51eb5191_b.jpg Space Wolves turn 5: Everything on the left flank shoots and assaults and cause the wondeful Necron Phase Out. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4022/4206981772_69349e01f6_b.jpg Win! I wouldn't really say that either of us did anything wrong as such. I should probably have put a 10 man GH squad on each flank and my opponent should probably have started moving his warriors forwards a turn or two earlier. Other than that, an enjoyable game that didn't last too long and wasn't too short. This is an awesomely groovy list. Njal is great for slowing enemies down while Long Fangs pick out 'must kill' targets and the razorbacks take out hard targets. Even Eldar holofields can only take 15 Krak Missiles for so long before they go down... Actually, it's too easy too win with this list, so I'm going to retire it until I next play against the Tyranid menace... antique_nova
yea, it seems such an easy win and the necron player only had two scoring units. the flayed ones failed quite miserably and njal just made them non existant. thanks antique_nova Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190253-batrep-wolves-vs-necrons/#findComment-2254771 Share on other sites

antique_nova
raises eyebrow at SpaceWolf13C. your a space wolf player and you don't know that space wolves do not give kill points when killed? If you haven't seen the rule or jsut forgot then i will forgive you :). thanks antique_nova Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190253-batrep-wolves-vs-necrons/#findComment-2254924 Share on other sites
LPetersson
Good batrep, thanks for sharing :D Oh, and comgrats on the win  You're welcome. I hope my experiences help others decide what to get and how to field stuff. Or just entertains ^_^ congrats on the victory. i believe you forgot to give the necron player the KP for killing your Lone Wolf I'm assuming you meant that I didn't give him a KP for the surviving LW? Since he phased out there was no point in counting up the KPs...
