The_Crippster
I got me a codex, but can't make up my mind about what to field in the army. I've always loved Slaanesh CSMs but with daemons I really have no preference. I'm looking to start anywhere between 850pts to 1,500 pts. So, I'm asking you guys for tips on what I should be fielding at these numbers, as well as how to play C:CD as I have little clue. I would like to include the changeling in my list, as glamor sounds =O. The main armies I face (in order of most common to least common) are- 1 Blood Angels player 1 Imperial guard (imps and blood angels are the same guy, I would expect 3k+ games with him containing blood angels+imps vs CD and CSM) 2 Tau 1 Orks 1 CSM 1 Tyranids 3 Eldar Also I'd like to use Gulavhar,The Terror of Arnor somewhere as I wont be entering any srs/official tournaments with this list, and would love to convert such an epic model into a prince/greater/one of those unmodeled special characters. speaking of those unmodeled special characters, what did you all do for them? Brother Nihm
For army building this thread(link) is a good start. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190300-staring-chaos-daemons/#findComment-2255391 Share on other sites
LuNCHBiZZLe
yeah the thread nihm linked is great for new DoC players, as for modeling characters with no set models just use whatever fits your army best, for example I have an almost all nurgle army but I field a squad of 2nd ed plague bearers as horrors with the FW nurgle herald as my changling. Corpse.
I suggest large squads that can take more then a squads rapid fire. 12+ models in a squad, 15+ if its slaanesh. Slaanesh is weakest to being shot, but is strong against the melee armies you will face. Khorne is a constant and tzeentch will give you the best run for the money when it comes to being reliably killing things before they die. If you are willing to do a mix army, I highly suggest a pair of cheap pavane heralds of slaanesh for smaller games. Your weakness is massed rapid fire. So either tie them down with speedy units, or be so tough that its hard to remove you with such guns. Deep strike close, expect to be charged. Remember you can always run after you deep strike to avoid being blasted badly. Ayura
Is it a good idea to deep strike a few bloodcrushers infront of say a 10 man bloodletter squad, to act as meat sheilds and soak up fire? wouldnt this also mean that the bloodcrushers would get charged first allowing the 10x bloodletters to get their furious charge in?
