Making The Switch

In April, i'll read the codex. IF the fluff catches my interest, AND the chapter looks fun to play, in a way that is significantly different from my wolves, THEN i will consider playing them. As my second army of course.

Thunderpup shall not be leaving the fang without giving the skalds a long Saga to sing.

How many of you "counts as" Space Wolf players are switching to Blood Angels in April?

I have both? What does that count as?

A Black Templars player already called me a Heretic for having Salamanders, Space Wolves and Blood Angels. I guess he's a racist, wolf-hating, vampire stabber.

Feh, I've been a Son of Russ for too long to jump to that blond-haired pretty boy urrm... I mean Sanguinius! Yeah, Sanguinius...

Besides, if a bunch of Blood Claws run off to Baal, that's great, leaves more room and ale for me!

I thought his name was "Edward"?

ok being serious guys why would anyone change codex SW or codex IG for nids and then change to BA when the game play and unit set up is almost the same [if you use basic counts as and not buy whole new armies]. You forgetting that a lot of people switched to codex SW , because they didnt like codex chaos [which freaking sucks if you want to build something different then 2 dPS 4 troops +oblits and termicid] . Power players are happy with their IG lists and BA would have to really be 3ed rhino rush lvl powerful to change anything about their choices.

I use Spacemarines/ Black Templar/ Dark Angels/ Blood Angels rules for my Diy chapter so i wont be switching cause i already play them. (quite handy when you play a Campaign with just one army)

My first and favorite army was and is Space Wolves, but I also have Grey Knights, Nids, and Chaos Marines. Does that make me a wagon-jumper or whatever? Since first learning what 40k was, I simply heard the name 'Space Wolves' and decided that I would play them and i've thoroughly enjoyed it since then. The thing is, I also enjoy playing other armies for fluff and for tactical reasons. I don't see anything wrong with owning and playing more than one army. That's like saying you can't like pizza AND cheeseburgers. In the case of people who get rid of an army to get the newest army, I agree that they are jumping ship.
Better question....

How many will be selling their Space Wolf models so that they can buy Blood Angels?

I still need to get a few things. So if you could post them on Ebay cheaply I would appreciate it. ;)

LOL!!

Perhaps Lord Rags will let us run a "What's on Sale on Ebay" thread so we can get the best deals!! lol

:P

I have both already too (as well as daemons and eldar). I think my BA's are going to my stepson though so that I can focus on completing my House Belisarius Guard army. That should round out my wolves apocalypse force and give me a bit more justification for buying/building a titan. Plus I need a way to talk the stepson out of playing Dark Angels : )

Space wolves rock though. Awesome looking mini's with lots and lots and lots of options for conversions, Leman Russ will come back to kick some ass, and which other Primarch has had one of the most awesome war-machines in the galaxy named after him? You can play any army for powerful rules, but you can only play space wolves to look KICK ASS!!!

Ok, that just rocks. Got any pictures?

HERESY! YOU SHALL BURN WITH THE EMPEROR'S HOLY FIRE! IN SANGUINIUS'S NAME!

I can't wait until April, im so curious to see what they added.

No more old printed out thing.

Honestly if I didn't hear that there was going to be new Blood Angels i likely would've switched to Space Wolves.

You shall come to fear our new and improved Baals...

I started playing 40k back in 1994, at the time the box set consisted of a squad of marines a speeder and a limited addition SM Captain, the other half was twenty dark eldar. I have had Dark Eldar all this time, ten models out of around two hundred have more then chaos black on them.

In 2001 one I went to Iraq for my first time and ordered a Tau army, I think I have all of maybe twenty five models painted.

In 2003 I started Space wolves on my second trip to Iraq, 90% of my Wolves are painted the ice blue color because that was about the only paint I had with me in the desert. I am repainting them the dark grey of the codex cover now. Plus I played with the old codex for all the time I have had them.

So no I will not be going over to the Blood Angles, not even if the whole codex made them like the movie marines with the ungodly stats and weapons.
